Ghana Solidarity - The project was initiated due to suffering that many people were experiencing when Ghana was shutdown as a result of the Corona virus. It was initially an attempt by a few friends and colleagues of Dr. Faisal Garba, lecturer at the University of Ghana. The group who got engaged in social justice struggles with poor communities to provide some relief. The initial intervention was in the form of private contribution. They then came together to try and raise funds widely. Knowing Dr. Faisal Garba for a long time and working together on several occasions we the Aminu Initiative got involved and are now cooperating with them under the name “Ghana Solidarity”

Aminu Initiative support during crisis - Manaf Cheiba, Project Manager Junior Program Nima-Accra is taking care of our kids. Since schools have been closed in Ghana the kids are staying at home with their families. Due to the crisis prices for foodstuffs have skyrocketed. Many families in the poorer areas of Accra are suffering. We are trying our best to help by providing them with food and/or money.
