When it comes to nonprofit organizations, social media can be an extremely useful tool. By using social media, communicating with other people throughout the community, companies can raise awareness for a bunch of different issues in today’s society. They can use social media to formulate fundraisers and fairs to raise money for the organization as well as raising awareness for the issues they are addressing within the organization. A lot of companies forget that they can use social media as a way of putting out free advertising, but for nonprofits, it is like a gold mine.
While looking at different nonprofit organizations, I found one in my area called Tides Family Services. This organization raises awareness to children who have troubled childhoods and make bad decisions in life by taking them into the organization, set them up with a caseworker or a behavioral specialist, whichever is needed for the specific cases. They have schools set up across the state for the children in the program to attend which will help them be able to still receive an education and the assistance they need. They do this to make it easier for children within the organization to receive their GED’s and be able to learn extra skills that could help them once they get into the real world.
Tides uses platforms such as Facebook, Twitter (X) and LinkedIn to promote the company. They include things on their pages such as news interviews, job listings, fundraising events, and employee get togethers. They also have their information on each of these sites for ways of contacting the organization directly as well as a link to their official site. The platforms they are most active on are their Facebook and Twitter pages. They may post the same information on each of these platforms, but if someone has only one of the platforms and not the other, it makes it still be easily accessible to potential clients.
When I went to look at Tides Facebook platform, I saw that they have 1.3k likes and 1.6k followers. They have a lot more followers on Facebook than on Twitter which I believe is because it is the more relative platform for the type of organization they have. However, on Twitter, they have 392 followers and only 119 people follow them.
Organizations can use social media in many ways. As Duke Haddad put in his article, The Importance of Social Media to Nonprofits, He explained, “Social media platforms allow organizations to tell their story. Messages can help engage supporters, increase brand awareness, and promote fundraising initiatives. A recent survey of 9,000 nonprofits showed Facebook as the nonprofit primary social network.” As you can see by what Duke stated, this also falls into the same category for Tides. I feel if Tides posted more about the services they provide and some insight as to how the organization is making a difference, then they may be able to gain a higher following, which in turn could improve their incoming client rate in the future.

Hi There, I'm Anya! The reason im posting on Tumblr today, is because next week I'm going to try to raise as much money for Red Nose Day. I'm so excited to be doing my bit for our community! Follow my journey to see more!
I hope you will remember this, when you need it the most
If that person not appreciate you, and capable of hurting you and not apologising, it's not worth it. Be with people who love you genuinely, not those who just pretend it, because their kindness is just an illussion. This is called toxic behaviour. You do not need people who just take advantage of you.
Children shouldn't have to worry about when their next #meal will be.
Donate now and help provide #food packs for the children from poor families in Yemen.

WOW! This week seemed to pass quite quickly, I can't believe this is week 11! My small business has made more progress this week as usual. My clients are enjoying this small business venture so much!
Client A and I did some artwork this past Tuesday! He is quite the Picasso and we had a blast. Here is a collage of the event.
Client B and I went for a walk to the park and played some Uno afterwards which is her favorite card game! She ended up winning and wants to play again this week.
I helped do some yard work and grass mowing for Client C this past week. Then we managed to do another Sudoku puzzle.
Like I said, I can't believe that we are in week 11 and there are only 3 weeks left... This has been an amazing learning experience!
