Malevolent Liveblog: Episode 7.
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
"Is there a difference to you?"
"We could be trapped out here? At night?"
JONATHAN DOE YOU ABSOLUTE -
Same comment, Arthur. How many times has John seen death?
I keep forgetting what John might be.
"This may have been a bad idea, Arthur".
I love how John still hesitates when speaking. He could so easily have been booming, ominous, all-powerful, but no. He forgets about ID and swears. He enjoys poetry. He engages in banter.
Can John not see in the dark? Engage your darkvision!
Where can I hire an eldritch entity to follow me around commenting on my bad decisions? I'd like that.
I'd also like to keep my eyes though, so eh.
Does anyone else ever get to chat to John?
"It's quiet here." And I ha- wait, no, wrong podcast.
OH IS IT GRAVE BELLS.
That was a chunky door sound, holy moly.
I've just realised how useful John's descriptions are when it comes to conceptualising the world we're in. Thanks pal.
Oh hi, French gentleman.
To be continued ...

Rusty Quill Gaming is a whirlwind! I do hope you enjoy it!
Thank you, I'm sure I will! I hesitate to blog that one as it feels a *little* too close to home, and will also probably mainly consist of me screaming (through text) at Alex.

OK, here's the story so far. Brace yourselves.
Spoilers for Episode 3 - Episode 6 under the cut.
(Here's a link to the thread on Twitter, in case that works better! I'll be doing text from now on anyway ❤️).
Feat. General Confusion, realising how this podcast might be working on a meta-theatrical level, and very much enjoying the existence of the Entity (all of those develop into Themes, btw).
Read the next one to the end. I promise it's worth it. And then facepalm.
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Yup. I know. Don't worry, she gets there eventually.
You don't say.
I needed the luck. That was *intense*.
I was posting SO many tweets and having SO many regrets. RIP character count.
IT WAS 2AM.
Stopping by Woods my beloved. ❤️
And on to today, and Episode 6 ...
An accurate summary of Arthur at the end of Part 5 of @malevolentcast (according to John, anyway):
Gosh, I like this podcast.

I would like to start live-blogging this podcast properly here. Is that something people would be interested in? I wouldn't want to assume, but the Twitterfolk seem to be enjoying ...

A cat wandered into our house today. I picked him up to take him back outside, and he was positively VIBRATING with purrs.
Honestly? Made my day. ❤️ 🐈⬛

Episode Thirteen. Lucky for some ... ?
Nope. No, probably not, actually. This *is* The Magnus Protocol, after all.
Enjoy!

i’m deep in a sims 4 fixation right now and it makes me curious, would Gwen enjoy playing the sims?
I chatted with @martyniiii about this last night. I think Gwen would go full Black Mirror, recreate Lena in the Sims, and just torment her for the sake of catharsis.
Please bear in mind I have never played the Sims. Well, I have, but it was for all of half an hour. My knowledge is far from extensive. I hope you're having a lovely time though!

Hi Anusia, you're doing an amazing job as Gwen!! You are not beating the cutie pie allegations oml 🥺🥰
I apologise if you've already been asked something like this, but what was your introduction to horror? Also — milk, white, or dark chocolate?
Much love from Northern Ireland 🥰🥰
Aw bless you, thank you!
I have not heard these allegations - what's going on? 👀
My introduction in terms of realising I *like* horror was Magnus. Prior to listening, I was convinced that horror was gore, jumpscares, and machetes, which isn't really my thing. I was, however, massively into Gothic literature, loved reading Tales of the Unexpected and bestiaries of mythical monsters, and had been writing stories about ghosts and murder since I was ... eleven, maybe? The clues were all there, is what I'm saying. I just didn't realise any of that counted as horror.
Listening to Magnus made me realise that cosmic horror was something I found appealing, and the rest is history! I started reading more horror writers, watching horror films, and most recently of all listening to more horror podcasts. Oh, and writing the stuff, ofc. It's been quite a journey.
As far as chocolate goes ... all of the above. I'm sorry, I cannot.
Also yesssss, gorgeous part of the world! Greetings from the rainy (what a surprise) North of England.

Something I've been wondering about Protocol production:
Are y'all given full scripts for each episode, or do you only get stuff that's relevant to your character (i.e. scenes they're in, conversations they've overheard, etc.)?
Full scripts!
Occasionally, cases are left out if they're still in the process of being written and edited. But other than that, full scripts (though not all of us choose to read them from cover to cover ...).

Okie dokie, Tumblr.
I am ill. I am tired. I am taking this weekend slowly so that I am hopefully less of both of those things by Monday.
I am therefore asking you, in all sincerity ...
... do you have any podcast recommendations for me, please?
(I mean it. The only podcast I have listened to in any depth is Magnus, which, in the loveliest way possible, feels a bit too meta and tied up with my work to be the escapism it was a few years back. But more of that kinda thing pls and thanks. ❤️)
Edit: I made this mistake on Twitter too.
I expected maybe two replies. I forgot who I was addressing. You're all great and I am a fool.
I am currently working my way through and creating a list. Pls bear with. 👁
Further edit: Thank youuuuu 🎉
I have started with @malevolentcast.
So far, we have a sassy entity, a spooky book, and possibly a murder.
All of these are things I enjoy writing about. Maybe I lean towards cosmic horror more than I thought (what a surprise).
Great vibes so far. Thanks all!
(I'm also going to start RQG, because why not. And while all that is happening ... listsssss. 👁)

Thanks folks, your responses so far are much appreciated!
This isn't so much for me, tbh, as it is to allow people to express their wish for a private artistic space that I don't just wander into.
Because I am a curious being, and I do tend to wander.
Much love. X

It is my current understanding that I should avoid anything that is tagged 'Do Not Archive'.
For the sake of your comfort and my sanity, is that correct?
TIA ❤️
