Contrary to what people assume from her competitive nature, Makkari wasn’t a particularly jealous person.
What did she have to be jealous of?

From across the room, Makkari bristled slightly. She could feel how Eros’ tone had softened. She noticed the way Eros was gazing softly at Druig, his chin just centimeters away from hovering over Druig’s shoulder. Makkari flexed her fists, trying to keep her mind clear. She didn’t want Druig picking up on her jealousy, and she certainly didn’t need Eros snooping around.
