Sorry if its too specific but another question abt writing smut: it's a love story, i got the tension going and all that, almost-kisses etc like in bridgerton. I want to include lots of smut but don't want them to dive right into the good ol' p in v 😂 it's set in regency times too so our heroine is fairly new to the matter. I just dont know where to start. Oral is too advanced for first time experiences, i think? Fingering isn't enough. I've read so many smutty novels and now i sit in front of this empty document like 🧍‍♀️ if they start out with a makeout session turning into fingering but i want to save the p in v and oral stuff for later chapters what else is there to do 😅

oh, i don't think oral is too soon, maybe it's better for a first experience than any kind of penetrative sex, but you should do what makes more sense to you and your story! <3

Might i ask some writing advice for smut?

hi, babe!

first of all, write what you like and not what you think people will want to read. if there are any tropes or kinks you're uncomfortable with but you want to force yourself to include them because you think it will get your fic more attention, don't do that. do you.

what i personally like to write and read in regards to smut, is inner dialogue. what is your narrator character feeling at that moment? what's the physical sensation? what does that make them feel? lean into that!

don't shy away from the gross stuff, or the awkward stuff. that's a part of sex as much as the romanticized stuff.

tension is important too. even if you jump right into the action, even if it's within an established relationship, tension makes everything sexier. if it's a plot element or literally just physical sexual tension between the characters, it's always something that draws me in.

most importantly, have fun with it <3 if you're not having fun writing it, then all of this advice will be for nothing. fun comes first.

an update from your least favorite writer: she's alive (fortunetely? i think)

a little context first, i had an almost finished chapter three of "it's been seven hours and fifteen days" written, and, uh, i didn't like it. so i scrapped it! the whole thing! gone down the drain. i have however, as of this past week, re-outlined and now i'm in the process of rewriting it

don't know when i'll finish it, don't know if i'll have the motivation to post it, but one thing at a time, i guess <3 i've also decided to set aside every drabble/one-shot project i had and focus only on writing the updates of my two on-going series during this hiatus, it gives me something more solid to concentrate my work in
