Hello, I was wondering about posting treats- is it alright to add it to my main assignment in additional chapters? my medium is fanart, so I don't think it'd be good to clog up ao3 with multiple works of a single image each. would it be alright to divide them by (#1 main assignment #2 treats) or ships or content(sfw/nsfw)?

First, Nonny, please write this down and put it on your vision board: fanart is a valid work to be on AO3 and you are not clogging anything up! You should post as many works as necessary to appropriately tag.

Please keep in mind that AO3's searching and filters are designed so that users can find the right work for them based on rating, character, pairing, additional tags, etc!Works featuring different ratings, ships, etc are meant to be separate for ease of search and filtering. Relatedly, authors should not be posting drabble "collections" as a single work either, even though many of them feel like they are "clogging up" AO3 as well.

As for whether it's okay to post a SFW and NSFW version of the same work - YES! Authors do this too!

Ultimately you can post however you are comfortable, but you should know that your works are valid and appropriate to be featured on AO3 and I will personally fight anyone who accuses you of "clogging up" anything.

General AO3 posting philosophy and encouragement aside, per the exchange rules:

your assigned gift should be a separate work only for your assigned recipient

additional treats may be posted as you see fit, but everyone who is added as a recipient needs to have requested those pairings, not have a DNW for ANY of the art in that works' contents, and needs to be okay with receiving that rating. Given those guidelines, you should seriously consider posting them as separate works

You don't have to follow your recipient's provided prompts if none speak to you. You are only required to stick to pairings requested and respect their DNWs.

Artists: be sure not to use a watermark or signature that identifies you on your initial post! You can create a signed copy to swap out once creators are revealed, if you want.

Do not add your work to any collections or series that might identify you! Likewise, do not link to your social media until after creator reveals.

Be sure not to share snippets, WIPs, or post about your work until after creator reveals. You may use betas, of course, but be sure it's someone who can keep your secret! Be careful when requesting a beta - revealing details of your piece or thanking the beta for their work could give you away. We encourage you to do so after creator reveals!

Contact a mod if you need more info/clarification for an assignment or treat, if you cannot find your recipient's social media or they do not have anon on.

Contact a mod immediately if you will not be able to complete your assignment for any reason. You can also request an extension here.

How Are Sign-Ups Coming?

We are just under one week away from sign-ups closing!

Hi, thanks for bringing this to our attention!

There have been some weird errors with the AO3 nomination system this year and this one slipped through our double-checking. We've added it to the tagset as Calpernia/Solas (Dragon Age), which is the canonical tag. You should be able to use it in your sign-up now!

Are the DNWs only for what you don't want in the piece you're going to receive, or does it also include themes you don't want to put in the piece you're going to be making to give to another?

DNWs are intended to be placed in the requests field or in your exchange letter to tell your recipient what you do not want to receive.

In your offers, you may place general notes to the mods about things you won't create. For example, you can say "Please don't match me with anyone who has only explicit requests." or more specifically "Please don't match me with enigmalea." You can be as specific or broad here as you want - but please note that just because you say "I won't write Omegaverse" it does not mean we will not let you create for someone who has Omergaverse as a like. Recipients may provide general likes to guide you, but cannot force you to create a specific work. Because of this, in general, these offers notes tend to be much broader than your DNWs list.

Also, unlike DNWs, these notes to the moderators are private and are used by the mod team to double check that you will likely be able to create for your matched recipient.

☆ Mod Intro

▸ Name: DirThenera, or Thenera. Dir is ok too ▸ Pronouns: she/her

I discovered Dragon Age in 2018 during a difficult time of my life, and quickly became obsessed, especially with all things Elvhen. Soon just the game wasn't enough for me and I dusted off my rusty drawing skills and rustier writing skills.

Mostly obsessed with Solas, I've written a couple hundred thousand words of fic, mostly bittersweet with some snark. I love deep lore dives and angst and character explorations.

As a painter, I love complex colors and unusual lighting, and seeing if I can capture the essence of the character. I hate doing backgrounds, but it's a skill I've been working on. Portraits are my favorite.

I can't wait for Dreadwolf, and I'm excited to celebrate elves with all of you in the meantime!
