Okay, since we all know that the cursed story had twisted Jacks’s story so much, is it possible that he also knew the reason why his kiss would kill the girl that he kissed? I mean other than his power as a fate that could control the after effect of his kiss? Just like how Lala know the real reason why she was labelled as Unwed Bride is bec she was the one who left the guy in the altar bec she cant love anyone else other than Dane? And how that one Fate in Caraval, the Maiden Death knew the reason why she was cages was bec it was the Fallen Star who had done it…

I just tried to think about why he is so heartbroken when Evangeline first met him in the church, when in fact, that incident happen right after he had managed to tricked Tella into marriage, the night before… like why he is heartbroken when he finally get her?

Okay like remember Tella was dying from his kiss when he first kissed her in legendary and how Legend’s blood had revived her? Then Jacks kissed Tella again in Finale, AND NOW I REFUSED TO BELIEVE THAT legend’s blood is the one that saved her because in fact at that time, Tella was really into love with Legend. The very reason why Tella came out alive from Jacks’s kiss in Finale is because Tella never loved him.

And remember the truth behind Jacks’s curse? The only one who will survive his kiss would be the one who never love him. And Tella never love him.

And i just connected the dots. Like how he was so heartbroken in the church to the point of ripping his cloth when Evangeline first saw him in ouabh??? I think he do realised that Tella could never be his because Tella survived his kiss and he just realised how Tella never loved him 😭

And the only thing he’s been searching for is his true love, but yeah fate is cruel, how is he supposed to find his true love when his lover will never survive his kiss? He will never find someone for him bec everytime someone fall in love with him, they would just died and he will be left alone again and again (and again keep in mind that he has power as a Fate that could control the after effect of his kiss)…

I think it was a major slap in his face to find out that he was attracted to Tella and then realised that he would never win her love bec she survived his kiss… and thus, he will never found his one true love because how is she to be his true love when she never loved him? It was a really twisted kind of fate that one could be written on…

And that was why he said that he want to erase his memories with Evangeline, bec he knew Evangeline loves him, and his curse was in fact would kill every one who kissed him bec of their love… thats why he said that her fate would only lead the same as his first fox because his first fox died because she loves him. (This all happened in tbona btw if you forget)

I refused to believe that Jacks was ignorant of the truth behind his curse… now i finally find the reason why he was so heartbroken even after he managed to tricked Tella into marriage, when he was supposed to be happy instead that he could finally be with his ‘one true love’ 😭

I know this is sudden and off secret shanghai universe but im currently reading a curse for true love (ebook ver since there is a lot of spoiler going on internet so i have to finish this asap)

But lemme tell you something about a guy named Jacks, who really had stolen my heart from the very first time he had been introduced by Stephanie Garber

A Curse For True Love Spoiler - i just read up to chapter 26 so my comment might be wrong

We always talk about how Evangeline being hopeless romantic but can we also agree that Jacks’s way of love is really something? Like he is a monster, he do questionable things, but when it comes to love, he was willing to do anything to get it?

His first love - the Fox, he is willingly to fight against the Archer’s curse because he didnt want to hurt her and guess what?? HE DID IT! Like he did it, not even Apollo, who claimed his love for Evangeline, could overcome such curse and even Luc couldnt fight against the love potion that Marisol gave to him while claiming he loves Evangeline… but Jacks? HE DID FOUGHT THE ARCHER’S CURSE! Like he did it! Because his love is so great that he manage to do it, its just a shame that the first Fox died because of his curse.

And now look at what he is doing for Evangeline 😭 he is willingly to let her go just because he didnt want to risk losing her forever again if by being together will the end of Evangeline… He’s been doing that since tbona, the only reason why he left Evangeline before Chaos picked her up is because he didnt want to cause Evangeline’s death if they end up together and its not even about Donatella… he just love her and he will sacrifice his everything even though he has nothing left except for Evangeline…

And when Evangeline lost her memories, he was just so determined to left her with Apollo just so that Evangeline could be happy because if she is a Princess, then she can gain anything she want and her safety is secured 😭 He. Sacrified. His. Own. Happiness. For. Her. Only for her.

And the thought that he keep on carrying Evangeline’s letter and read it again and again just because he missed the old her- omg my heart is breaking for him

Ive always pitied him especially after learning his past in tbona and now Stephanie is breaking my heart in pieces by showing how vulnerable Jacks is- like he already lose everything. Everything.

You cant say he still has Chaos or his power bla bla the point is, he is already damaged and broken the moment he lost his friends and causing the death of the Fox and now he is willing to sacrifice his chance with Evangeline just so that Evangeline could be safe-

There are so many things i wanna talk about Jacks and but i have to stop here or otherwise it would be a endless talk 😭

Anyway i get why he is called the Prince of Hearts because he went beyond of it when it comes to love 🫶🏻

I have read both!!! Its just that after reading it i still prefer FLF series but still i love it both since it was the original story right

And yeah i do agree that it was definitely different from any romeo juliette retelling and gangster story and i really didnt expect that i would become more patriotic towards my country after reading this book 😂

Chloe Gong is really on another level for being brave in tacking the historical part and making me loving the story more because of that wartime event in the book! I would say i am more invested in the war event that took place in TVD and OVE more than the actual plot about the insects actually 😅

I finally done reading this and i cant believe i have read all the secret shanghai universe and im not ready to let go of it yet 😭

Tbh i started with FLF first since well i saw someone said that you dont have to read TVD series first to enjoy FLF, so i skipped TVD series since im not really into gangsters or enemies to lovers troupe 😅 its the biggest mistake ive done, maybe, since by the time i am reading TVD series, i already have this mindset that Rosalind only done all those mistakes just to get love and appreciated by the people in her surroundings… but still i do love TVD characters and especially Roma and Juliette story… its just that i treasure Rosalind and Orion story more…

Anyway talking about Rosalind, wow… i never expect that i will grow with her… her character development really amazed me and i agree with Dao Feng that i am so proud of her for that too (NOOOOO DAO FENG COME BACK HER AND LETS SMILE TOGETHER SEEING ROSALIND ACHIEVING HER HAPPY ENDING 😭💔)

Sometimes i forgot how Rosalind was abandoned by everyone, especially with her former lover, Dimitri (or worst, he never even loved her, im glad Juliette killed him or otherwise im gonna be the one who did that deed for Rosalind) and now she is with someone who loves her and been receiving back on the other end… im truly glad that Orion is there for her and gosh, words cant describe how much i love Orion for coming into Rosalind’s life and the other way around… they are truly made for each other and im loving it!

Im glad we never really get glimpses of Rosalind’s relationship with Dimitri because thats really helps me to forget about Rosalind’s former ex lover though 😅 i always forgot about the existence of Dimitri until it was being brought up occasionally in FLF series… well he deserve it for being a total garbage.. a trash belongs to a trash can after all

Orion and Rosalind is written in the stars and i wont accept any other opinion about it.

Oh by the way, the very reason why i picked FLF first is because i always love spy and fake marriage troupe… so to have it in one package, im absolutely excited for it and didnt think twice to do proper research on whether it has any connection with TVD series 😅

It hurts to think how similar Rosalind and Orion are to each other… especially on the part that they were often left out by their own family… Rosalind was being kept in dark by Celia about Juliette’s being safe from the explosion in 1928 while Orion doesnt know anything about Phoebe being the Priest in Communist and being handled by Oliver… Like i get it that both sides tried have their own valid readon to do so but it just hurt me how Orion and Rosalind need to find each other and only then they found someone who truly understand themselves…

Sometimes i wonder how Rosalind and Orion could have better chemistry when they only literally know each other for weeks only before Orion had his memory lost and they were separated for months, compared to the couples such as Phoebe Silas had known each other for more than a decade, Celia and Oliver been partners for 5 years, Roma and Juliette been a couple and soulmate before the disaster took place and Marshall Benedikt also known each other for so long… its really wonderful how Orion and Rosalind can accept each other despite having little time to really know each other AND EVEN SO, there still a lot of layers, secrets that they kept from each other…

And the fact that Orion recognised her when he was in total control by Lady Hong tells us how much he loves her deep down in his heart… plus, his body do recognise her, its like in his instinct to grab Rosalind all the time JUST DESCRIBE HOW HE TRULY LOVES HER and im gonna stop my list here because otherwise it wont stop 🙇🏼‍♀️

but well, i guess Rosarion is just really written in stars, that they were really fated for each other and im truly love the idea so much and wont ever complained about it 🫶🏻

I really love the Rosalind-Orion-Alisa relationship like we finally get the Seagreen team back with their silliness still intack… how Alisa interrupt Rosalind and Orion’s kissing moment, Orion and Alisa’s gossiping’s moment, Alisa’s overdramatic reaction during their rescue mission, Alisa teasing Rosalind… well almost everythinggggg i just feel like Alisa suited with Rosalind and Orion the most among other FHH character and well, it really shows in FHH though

Never thought these trio’s dynamic will makes me laughing hard 😂 they are just chaotic and silly in the midst of the war lmao
