I'd like to apologise in advance to my kidney who is possibly going to have to endure one more month of cancer before I get that fated MRI because it was impossible to get one for May - which is entirely due to my GP disappearing right when he was supposed to give me that prescription. In the event that there is no cancer well first off why are you hurting me, second off I'm still sorry because I think safety would be more swag. Swagger.

There's something so genuine about the way Josefumi's fear of abandonment is written, though. Like - in the midst of the ~bizarre adventure~ lies a very realistic fear and emotion. Chapter 52, especially with the context of his young age, makes him an extremely relatable character, which is what turns it into a tragedy. He's so terrified at the assumption that Kira is about to abandon him that he decides to be the one who does the abandoning, so he doesn't have to experience that heartbreak. Many a reader will have had the same thought at his exact age.
And understanding his point of view is what cements, ironically, how much he cares about Kira. His thoughts make it clear that he's felt abandoned more times than just the drowning incident - but working alongside Kira, living with him, puts him in a sensitive position of trust towards him. The possibility of being abandoned by him is terrifying, and because his heart yearns for a world where that doesn't happen, he's willing to avoid it at all costs. But as it turns out, it would have never happened. Because they had a healthy, trustworthy relationship. Because Kira cared about him; something he probably didn't dare to imagine. It's difficult to believe someone actually cares about you when you've only experienced neglect.
And once he realises that, there are no limits to his loyalty to him. Neither is it an option for him to lose him.

Fanartists will picture characters who are only ever depicted wearing hats, like Mista, as having thick, perhaps curly and/or long hair. As though they're not the most likely candidates for male pattern baldness

(Masterpost)
Rules: - Vote for one of these two characters based on who you personally think should win. It can be anything from "I follow aseriesofunfortunatejan and she talks about this character way more" to "I know this guy and not the other guy" passing by "who are these? This one's hotter" and of course "holy shit this is ALSO my blorbo" - You may reblog this poll and you may even talk about why you voted for who you voted! - You may NOT complain about the other character if you dislike them! These characters are all the poll runner's beloveds and the goal of this tournament is to have fun, be silly, be nice, eat hot chip.
Introductions and updated propaganda (under the cut):
The end is near! Welcome to my second round of propaganda! If you wish to read my original propaganda for these characters - which I think you should, because it was great - please look through this tournament's tag on my blog.
Korekiyo Shinguuji is a staple of my blog. It hasn't happened in a while, but two of my character essays get recognised in the wild - my first Shinguuji essay and my "in defence of Mika Shimotsuki" essay. (But yous voted Shimotsuki out, so that probably doesn't hold a lot of weight.) If you've followed me for a while, you've probably seen a few of my "oh no. I thought about Shinguuji." posts in your lifetime. I don't know why he eats at me like this. I hear he's a little fucked up, actually, but that's just a rumour. Wasn't he reformed and a teacher now anyway? (/ref). Danganronpa is also a fandom I am known for, so that could influence your vote. (Do I have a tulpa?) Anyway, does all of this mean he should win my blorbo tournament?
River actually made it all this way! That's actually really touching. She is an extremely important character in To the Moon and she is one of these characters I unequivocally consider important to me. Among the four current contestants, she's definitely the oldest of my blorbos. (...In-universe as well. I have yet to see Sebastian in his old age.) She is an extremely touching character who carries with her a deep frustration her entire life - something with which I have found myself relating. She's also the only girl left among the contestants, so vote wisely! Like I mentioned in the previous rounds, the "river" in my art username "arollingriver" stands for her. Does this mean she should win my blorbo tournament? ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Maybe if enough Shinguuji haters find this post?

i can't take my mind off the fact that people are generally serious about using they/he pronouns for aurum but for audine it's she/her everywhere . like technically that's not incorrect, audine is described as using she/they pronouns, but i'm getting some kind of vibe

it's scary in the dungeon meshi tag right now....................... like.................... i feel like the writing of this episode was brilliant in how it included so much information and gave us a clear history of shuro's experience, a clear view into his feelings of resentment, and made it extremely and plainly obvious, with its use of the theme of being well-fed, that this is him at his worst.
the fight between him and laios was entertaining in how it was presented in contrast with everything and everyone else, but having it be a childish fight between two people who suck at communicating in different ways and for different reasons, didn't have bad intentions, and yet hurt each other, did wonders for their respective characterisations. shuro finally eats a bite of the food that senshi, "the guy who teaches everyone about being well fed", kept for him, and with a clearer mind not only treats his companions better (showing how touched they are that he thanked them is a perfect example of "show, don't tell": he doesn't usually do that or hasn't been doing that, but right now he did!) but also takes one of these clear headed, mature decision that laios earlier complimented him for.
laios hit him first - it was inappropriate. shuro hit him back - that was an immature decision. the fight wasn't nasty, it was equal amounts of childish on both sides and it led them to communicate with each other, which was what was missing between them. it was something that they both needed, it was something that was just for the two of them, which is why everyone else left them to it. once he ate something, shuro immediately behaved much better, so it's easy to picture - especially when laios has described his past self in a good light - that when he is in good condition, he has other qualities as an individual. i'm not saying this because i want people to look at a character i like in a good light - i'm enjoying him because he's very pathetic - but because it seems so clear that this episode's writing screamed "this is this man at his worst". the use of food guys. remember the food
of course i don't think you should use physical fights as a mean of communicating with your friends but i don't know if you guys (saw the big dragon woman) noticed that their situation is a little bit messy and scary and tiring .
etc. etc.
