no but i could psychoanalyze cas all day like. ppl talk abt dean being afraid of abandonment which is true but cas is so equally afraid, they both push ppl away to “protect them” but in entirely different ways. like deans self hatred burns him and everything around him while cas’ self hatred is cold and inward and makes him isolate himself from everyone around him in SOME way even if he doesnt realize it. dean doesnt want people to leave but he expects them to and he resents it; cas doesnt want people to leave but he thinks he deserves it so he accepts it. every time someone points out dean “i cant ask you to stay but please dont leave me” and cas “i cant ask to stay but if you dont tell me i can then im going to leave because its easier for you when im gone” it makes me insane. absolutely bonkers. the dynamic is so good im so [head in my hands]

i just remembered ur ask about what conservatives see in spn and I wanted to say i just finished s8 with my ostensibly republican father and definitely republican mom and it’s just.. absolutely insane. my dad is a big fan of the fighting and he says his favorite episode is that one in s6 for the scene where the guy in the garage dies in a comicly drawn out home alone-esque sequence culminating in having his head chopped off. (his actually favorite episode is the borne again identity lol.) he says his favorite character is dean because he’s funny but also is constantly like. “why is dean such a manwhore”. i dunno how he feels about Cas. my mom is fucking hilarious she LOVES cas everytime we watched an episode and the “misha collins” credit popped up she’d get so fucking excited.

she doesn’t like the fighting scenes so much as the like. characters just hanging out and talking. her favorite episode is literally FTBYAM lmao. toward the end of s8 my dad kept being like “lol they’re acting gay. that’s funny” like he didn’t think they were ACTUALLY gay it was just a joke. i think my mom knows though. she cried at goodbye stranger and also the episode where samandriel died. oh and she went insane for the Borne Again Identity AND the rapture.

she came up to me the other day like out of NOWHERE and was like “Nichole i love castiel so much he is my favorite character and i love him and dean so much. sam is okay I guess” this is getting long im SO sorry
