Good day, everyone! We hope you’re all doing well! 

We would just like to announce that the Astor Academy main will be going under a major revamp! This is to prepare for the reopening of the role play to new potential members, as well as to make way for the second chapter! With that, the main will be unavailable for a while starting on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, as the admins continue to work on giving it a new look! The second chapter will be introduced once the main is ready for viewing, and we will also be introducing some new skeletons!

We’ve always known ever since we created Astor that there would be chapters to it, and we’re really excited for chapter two, and hope that some new content will get all of our creative juices flowing! We would also like to let our members know that they may continue to write their current characters, if they wish to do so, and those who do not, we can definitely work on a reason as to why they are no longer part of Astor. That being said, you may definitely also take up new characters for the second chapter if you so wish, and of course, continue to write your current ones. In the event that you decide to leave the current ones behind, we will not be recycling the skeleton, because we truly think that no other character could fit the skeletons better than the characters right now. We will also be changing the character cap for each member from two to three, and we will still have a very relaxed activity!

Please feel free to send us a message if you have any concerns, and how you would like to proceed with being a part of the role play (if you wish to continue writing your current character, if you don’t, if you no longer wish to be part). We would love to hear from you guys and we hope you’re as excited as we are!

Astor Academy welcomes you home, Astor’s Beloved!

Invitations were sent out, RSVPs were responded to, deliveries for the preparations began. One of the most upheld traditions of Astor Academy is welcoming back the people who once spent their time walking down the corridors as students. This year’s Alumni night is hosted by Astor’s very own batch of ‘97, and, just like every year, things are looking to be as grand as always. No expenses spared for the homecoming of the Astorians! 

Date: July 3, 2020  Duration: 1 week Details:

For the duration of this event, players are to write older characters (35+). They will be alums from Astor Academy who have come for the annual alumni dinner hosted at the academy.

Players may choose to write more than one character for the event, granted that one of those characters be POC.

You may play your main character’s parent or relative, but you may also not. It’s up to you! We’d love to see whoever you come up with!

Interactions between main characters and alums may also take place. After all, there will be some students who will be assigned as ushers/usherettes! So you can definitely plot that out so that your main character could have an interaction with your alum character, or someone else’s alum character!

We won’t be requiring you guys to write full fleshed out bios. Just some bullet points of info so that others can get to know them as well! And we definitely encourage plotting, because surely there characters will have some history with each other!

Threads not related to this event do not have to be out on hold, but we do encourage everyone to write starters as their Alumni Night characters.

Please send in your character’s names and face claim so that we can compile a list.

We would like to ask everyone to please make sideblogs for your alumni night characters. You may begin plotting for this event as early as right now!

Good day, everyone! We hope you’re all doing well! Just a couple of announcements up ahead!

We have come to the decision of turning Astor into a closed group. This is after some heavy discussion between Laurel and myself (as well as some input from you guys), and we thought that it would be best to just turn the group into a closed group. This way, we can have a more relaxed writing atmosphere (no need to worry about activity checks), and we can focus more on developing our characters at our own pace. That being said, we will definitely understand if this is something that you are not comfortable with, and we encourage you to please, please send us a message if so. In line with this, we will remove the character-per-member cap, so you may take up as many as you want, as long as you know you can handle it. Regarding writers who were once part of our little role play group, if you wish to return, all you have to do is send us a message and we can surely work something out!

This doesn’t mean that we won’t be accepting new people completely. In fact, we would love new members, and we would ask that you send us a message instead of sending in an application directly. We want to do it this way because there will be no more activity checks and we would ask that, even though things may be slow, you would still be dedicated to the group and to your character. Should you wish to leave, we would very much appreciate sending us a message!

Of course, this will not take effect right away! We are still open for applications until Wednesday, June 24, 2020 (12 midnight EST), so should you wish to send in an app for any of our available characters, you may do so! 

We truly hope that you understand our decision. We simply want to do the best for the group, and we feel that a more relaxed writing environment would be the way to do it. Thank you very much.

Activity maybe slow but the writers are all great and they bring so much to their characters that it's always a delight to read and reply! In fact it's a nice pace where there is no pressure which might actually be a good thing what with all the stuff going on in the world. If you're considering joining please don't let slow pace deter you :)
