ian didn’t get an individual intro/recap scene until SEASON 4 at the club. so unfair. why reuse all of those scenes like fiona on the toilet screaming at carl or frank being like “for those of you who were too fucking busy” when you could have an ian scene. LIKE ESPECIALLY SEASON 2 IAN… he was so insanely sassy in that season please john wells let him verbally abuse us and break the fourth wall

favorite fictional character from a movie? Sara Crewe from A Little Princess (1995). I love that movie so much. I think about her speech about how all girls are princesses daily and it really motivates me on how everyone should be treated with love and kindness regardless of who they are.

favorite fictional character from tv? I'm on such an X-Men kick with X-Men '97 that I'm going to go with my OG Gambit. I love watching the cartoon growing up and it's how I got into comics.

favorite fictional character of all time? Roy Harper from DC comics (not the CW show)

if you could be irl friends with any three fictional characters, who? Lorelai Gilmore so we can talk about pop culture and eat junk food. Chandler Bing so we can be sarcastic in a corner together. Maybe Ophelia from Hamlet just so I can tell her ain't worth it.

favorite fictional couple: So many! I'll just say currently Ian/Mickey and Daisy Duck/Donald Duck for the Disney nerd in me and Rouge/Gambit from X-Men.

okay, you can only choose one fictional character to get stranded on and island with: Green Arrow (again not from CW show). That's his origin story and we can rant about the government together.

one fictional world you would hate to be a part of: Hunger Games would suck.

one fictional world you would love to be a part of: Stars Hollow. My mom is from New England and every time I visit there I just think about how it's like Gilmore Girls. Her small town has Hospital Days where there's a fair to raise money for the local hospital and I honestly feel like I'm in the show.

your “HEAR ME OUT” fictional couple: Now my mind is on a Gilmore Girls track so I'm going to say Lorelai/Chris and Rory/Logan. My sister hates me for it.

and finally, something you’re looking forward to this week? I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow and after years of trying I finally got a reservation at Blue Bayou, the restaurant inside the pirates ride.

The day has gone by like a blur but Ian wouldn’t trade it for the world. Being married felt better than he ever imagined. He sits and watches Mickey (husband!) drunkenly dance with their family. He thinks back to when they were kids and Mickey was terrified of letting anyone see them together and how far he’s come. Ian is so proud of him. From banging in the shadows of the high school bleachers to proclaiming their vows in front of a whole room of people. The past ten years have gone by like a blur but Ian wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Svet's wifely duties was why I had a hard time getting on board with the throuple. It felt very manipulative to me.

I had to frame it as Svetlana trying to create a safe place for herself and understanding that she probably views sex as a currency that she can offer. Knowing that her life since childhood has been working as sex worker she probably thought this was a normal exchange.

The marriage was such a sad and scary situation for both Mickey and Svetlana. I can also see her trying to do her wifely duties for him, again because it's probably out of survival. Also if there was a rejection from Mickey I can see that being hard for Svetlana. If her self worth is equated to sex then a rejection from wifely duties and having to step aside and let another boy in the relationship would be a very scary situation for Svet. So I can see why she would perform these duties for V right away to secure a safe place and family for her and Yevgeny. But with that being the base of the relationship I thought the throuple would fall apart faster then it did.

currently thinking about Svetlana and her 'wifely duties'. Because on so many levels that shows her fucked up relationship with sex. Like she not only thinks that to be in a committed relationship you have to do all the household duties, but you also have to perform sexual acts every morning for the other person which is only for their pleasure, not yours. I'm not saying that giving head is only pleasurable for one person, it should be for both, but in the context she talks about I strongly doubt that was what the intention was.

also thinking about how she was technically Mickey's wife, so I can guess she probably tried to do the same to thing. And I can also guess that it did not end well. Let's remember that he doesn't respond well to being woken up at all, but least of all to a woman, and LEAST of all Svetlana after everything that happened. I can imagine that it would be very traumatic

Mickey sat up slowly and carefully on the side of the bed, as not to wake its other occupant who was currently enjoying the sleep of the innocent. Mickey glanced at the digital clock on the stand and ran a hand over his face. He hadn’t drank like that in a long time. In fact, the night before…fuck, the whole DAY before was all a blur. He could only remember trying to make plans with Ian then… It all came back to him…

Mickey lay back down and cradled Yevgeny close as “Don’t” echoed through his mind. Ian was gone.

there's something that really gets to my heart about both Debbie and Svetlana naming their kids after their shitty abusive fathers because "they had good qualities too" and still actively working to be better parents than they had as children but there's still a part of them that are those scared little girls who just wanted their dad to love them and protect them but they got let down over and over again and yET they still honor those shitty fathers and who they could have been with their children's names 😭
