This is my country themed Photoshoot. I chose a cabin to shoot in the field and then Chose to shoot on the truck. The model is my sister and the dog is one of our puppies. I chose western wear for the clothing, the location for a country feel, and the light makeup for a more authentic country style. I also felt this style of editing matched the country vibe I was looking for. 😄

Philosophy of Beauty. How do I see and perceive beauty and what have I learned?

Makeup:

Makeup is an art. An art that can be done by anyone and is experimented everywhere. Makeup truly enhances beauty or can transform your face to truly anything you want, it is beautiful.

Does makeup enhance beauty?

100% I say yes it does! Beauty is not only natural, it is anything and everything in life! Makeup truly enhances beauty but it also does not erase your natural beauty! Some people may say they see makeup as a mask but I disagree. Beauty comes in all shapes and forms and makeup is a beautiful art and should be celebrated! You can really do anything with makeup and the people who specialize in makeup are amazing talented artists! There is no such thing as too much makeup in my eyes, if you want to put on lots of makeup then do it! Makeup is beautiful and is here to be experimented with and here to be used and created with! Saying that someone is wearing too much makeup I feel this shows whoever is saying it is a deeply insecure individual who doesn’t want to appreciate what someone may view as beautiful. Makeup like I said is an art, art is anything you can create and it is outstanding! Makeup artist exist for this very reason, they are individuals who take these supplies and create a masterpiece with it! It’s truly difficult to do this and you have to be very talented to do so! To say makeup is not an art is like saying food is created to not be eaten!

Fashion:

Fashion is something I truly am passionate about and I see so much beauty in it. Fashion is something that exists in everybody’s lives, even if you don’t think of yourself to be someone who cares about fashion, you still have your unique style that is your fashion taste!

Does Fashion enhance beauty?

I would say yes and no. Beauty exists without fashion and you are beautiful with a cool fashion taste and you are beautiful without a cool fashion taste. Of course an Individual can use fashion to enhance beauty but like I said with makeup, it does not take away the natural beauty. Fashion is something I deeply love and I feel it helps me enhance my beauty because It makes me feel so confident when I am wearing something I find amazing! I feel many others experience this and it’s a big factor why I would also say yes it does enhance beauty because it changes your attitude and helps you see your own true beauty!

How does the fashion industry influence people’s views of beauty?

The Fashion industry heavily influences people’s views of beauty. When a fashion magazine advertises a look and a body type, you will think “wow that is beautiful! I want to look exactly like that!” This can heavily have an impact on how we perceive ourselves! Sometimes these experiences can make us feel appreciated and celebrated and make us realize “wow they think I am beautiful!” Or these experiences can cause us to feel insecure and not good enough because we wish we would be the fashion industry's “idea of beauty.” Fashion magazines can also impact trends in fashion or trends in how your body should look and the people who can achieve this look will be praised while others will be shamed for not being good enough or desired by their peers. This all heavily impacts our idea of beautiful and can corrupt our minds and self esteem. This all could potentially lead to mental disorders such as body dysphoria or an eating disorder because it will make the people who aren’t that desired look, feel unwanted, ugly, fat or even too skinny.

Media:

Media is what we all consume, if it’s on the tv or in our phones, we can’t quite escape it. Media is everything that we see.

How does the media influence the standard of beauty?

The media decides what they want everyone to believe what is beautiful and what is not or what is bad and what is good. Media tends to popularize who they think is desirable, for example: Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian, and Angelina Jolie. Of course all these women are undeniably stunning! But they are definitely not the norm when It comes to us normal people. The media tells us this is what is beautiful and only that is beautiful and it’s a very toxic system! This causes people to be conditioned to believe only that is what true beauty is and if you don’t look like that then you are ugly. The media raises the standard for beauty so high that it is almost un-achievable which is very dangerous because young women will go to great lengths and obsess over the fact of beauty to feel like they have a place in this world.

How can young people be critical of the media?

The media heavily impacts our younger generation and conditions them to only see one type of person as beautiful which is very dangerous and wrong. These unrealistic ideals of beauty can also feed into not treating these women like humans but as objects. These unrealistic beauty standards do not help with the problem with how men treat these women and individuals will lead to bullying if you don’t look a certain way. This bullying and stereotypes can lead to unhealthy behaviours in our younger generation and cause mental health issues such as eating disorders, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, body dysphoria, and many others. It has been proven that ever since the media has taken over and became so common and normal in our lives, that mental disorders such as low self esteem have risen. This is incredibly important to know and we need to make changes to stop the stigma and help spread better positivity about our bodies.

Disclaimer: THIS IS MAKEUP‼️ This is my final injury/aging process makeup! I did this on my mother. I made a bruised eye from being hit, a scar/cut on you cheek from a slash, and finally wrinkles on the face. I used lots of reds, purples, and browns for this look and also used glue, tissue, and lipstick for the cut. All makeup done by me, Grace.

These are my inspiration looks for my next makeup look! I will be doing red themed drag queen makeup style! I am going for that red eyebrow with a dramatic black and white glittery eye.

This is my finished makeup look! I tried to do a pink alien and I also changed her hair to green and make the background space! I used a pink eyeshadow all over the face, with black liner and gold eyeshadow on the eyelid and also a black border. I also drew a black eye in the middle and added some symbols.

These are my next ideas for my alien makeup look! These are some traditional views on aliens and some newer ways of envisioning them. Sadly I do not have the colour green at hand so I will be using pink for this look.

These are three crazy! Alien makeup down in tv and movies! These are very inspiring and show us how creative and how far we can go with just makeup!! These inspire me to be more creative and think out of the box! Some techniques used for these are prosthetics to creative the look of a bigger or deformed head. Contacts may also be used with bright makeup or paint to bring it all together.

This is my finished makeup look done by me on my mother! I added lots of bruising, and indication of old dried blood in the face while adding veins and shadows for an older decaying zombie!
