Yay for Podcasts!!
I just have to say, we’ve only done two podcasts so far, and I am already having so much fun and wondering why I didn’t start doing this so long ago.  I’m sure it helps that once a month I get to sit with my bestie and all of you and just talk about yarn and projects and laugh and be silly. I really hope all of you are enjoying the new podcast as much as we are creating it.

Events, Events, and More Events
Events, Events, and More Events
There are so many things happening in the world of Bana&Bean and I just can’t seem to bring myself to write about just one.  Hang in there…its a long list but definitely worth checking out!
Event #1: Pop Up Shop #1
This last weekend I had the pleasure of being a part of the KnitKnit 2nd Anniversary Shenanigans.  If you read my last blog you know I was up to my eyeballs in fabric and scrambling to…

Pop-Up Shop Excitement with my friend, Procrastination
Tumblr media
In exactly 10 days I get the honor of participating in a local shops 2nd Anniversary Sale.  10 DAYS!!! 😯  One of the things that I constantly struggle with is my amazing friend, Procrastination. Every time  she shows up I tell myself “I will never let her do this to me again” and yet somehow my amazing friend always manages to  catch me off guard.  I really think I am just a pressure junkie and I…

Dishie Obsession
Do you ever see something that someone else has knitted and instantly become obsessed with it? For me, this happens all the time which leads me into my newest obsession.  Dishcloths.  I don’t know how many people this applies to, but I’ve been knitting for over two years and have yet to knit a dishcloth.  I hadn’t even considered it or even given it a second thought until my co-worker decided to…

Introducing KPDR - The Knit, Purl, Drink, Repeat Podcast
Introducing KPDR – The Knit, Purl, Drink, Repeat Podcast
Let’s see what did I do this last weekend?  Oh ya I got to sit in the snow and watch my youngest daughter (miss Savannah) play soccer.  Let me just say that this was oh so much fun, and I’m sure you won’t be surprised when I say this was not the high point of my weekend. The high point of my weekend actually ended up being way more fun than I expected it to be and I so can’t wait to get the…

This is the Start of Something Wonderful!!
This is the Start of Something Wonderful!!
I feel the start of something new and completely terrifying and yet I know its going to be absolutely wonderful!!   First I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took my survey.  It makes this new experience for me feel a little less terrifying knowing how many people are excited.  And yes for me, I have to say what I’m about to announce is very much outside my comfort zone and a…

So Much Fabric, So Little Time!!
So Much Fabric, So Little Time!!
My fabric pile, all organized and ready to be cut out. I think I’ve already explained to the world that I’ve gone just a little bit fabric crazy since opening Bana&Bean and this month or I guess you could say the beginning of this year has been no different. I had a bit of a break after my trip to Vogue where I didn’t purchase much and I didn’t do much sewing.  Honestly I think I was a bit burned…

Welcome to 2018!!
This year as with many years I started out the year with what I list as my new year accomplishments.  Instead of resolving to change things in my life, I like to think of things I would like to accomplish in the new year.  Now that I am a knitter, the list is definitely more knitting related.  Plus I also added some shop accomplishments I would like to have this year as well.  See I am a planner and planning my year out or having things I want to do over the course of the year keeps me excited and able to live in the now.  Many people think I am crazy.  I myself often times think I am crazy, but honestly I love sitting down and creating a plan of attack.
Last year I did not have a knitting plan, which is why I only finished 4 whole projects!!!  AAAAAH!!!! Granted one of those projects was a 6 skein shawl (the infamous Om Shawl), but can I really consider that even finished when I haven’t blocked, weaved in the ends, or sewn the buttons on yet?  I’m putting it in my finished in 2017 column, but I almost feel like I’m cheating with that one. Almost…
Are you ready?? Drum roll please!!
The projects I would like to complete in 2018 are:
Hue Shift Afghan by Kerin Dimeler-Laurence
Brave at Heart Shawl by Lydia Brown
Hoarfrost by Andrea Mowry
Vintage Prim by Andrea Mowry
Time Keepers by Lydia Brown
Tincture by Andrea Mowry
Another Om Shawl by Andrea Mowry
The Girl from the Grocery Store by Joji Locatelli
Mock Colorwork Fleckle Mitts by Estella Haines
Whirlygig by Wallyone Knitting (WIP)
Lineas Cowl by Elizabeth Suarez
Tan House Brook Shawl by Jennifer Lassonde
Handbrake by Kay & Dan Jones (WIP)
A pair of socks…pattern yet to be decided on
And if I still have time and my hands haven’t fallen off yet, Finish other WIPs cause I only have a half dozen or so of those as well.

See, I told you I was crazy!!! I’m sure you are looking at that list and thinking, “she only finished 4 projects in 2017!!” I myself look at the list and think I am completely crazy,  but we never know what we can accomplish if we don’t try!! What’s the worst that can happen?
The good news is I already have yarn for most of these projects (don’t tell my hubby).
Project Yarn Goodness
The only thing left is to cast on and go for it. Wish me luck!!
I would love to know what you want to accomplish in 2018. Comment below with your knitting goals or other goals for 2018.  Together, let’s make 2018 the best one yet!!
Here We Go Again!! Welcome to 2018!! This year as with many years I started out the year with what I list as my new year accomplishments.

To FROG or Not to FROG; That is the question.
To FROG or Not to FROG; That is the question.
As we enter into the fall season, we also enter into my favorite knitting time.  With fall comes soccer and with soccer comes lots of time to knit!!  So here I am knitting away at my daughter’s soccer tournament working on my favorite cowl go to.  I’m knitting and knitting and just happen to look down at my ball of yarn (the second and last ball I have in this colorway) and I notice its getting…

Vogue Knitting Live in Seattle
Vogue Knitting Live in Seattle
Can November really only be 2.5 months away?  I have to admit I might be freaking out just a bit.  This summer has definitely been way more crazy than I was anticipating and the demand on my time crazy.  I keep telling myself that at some point I need to start saying no to things so I can actually have something to sell at vogue.  Don’t fret though, I have made some progress on items to sell…
