* [Far enough from civilization so that nobody would bother them.. It couldn’t be a trap. No. It was always a trap. Empress would do this sort of thing to lead her away to kill her. But one thing rang out in Conviction’s mind, clearer than all her other conflicting thoughts. This dog wasn’t Empress. Not remotely. He would never do something like that.]
* [Conviction heistates.. it looks perfect. Too perfect. The tower was nothing like this.]
* ...I am patient, yes.
* And, if you insist, Seraph.
* [With that, she steps through the portal he’s made for the both of them into the lakeside that looked as if it was right out of some portrait or forgotten dream.. Miles and leagues away from the bloody, run-down hell that was Empress’s Tower.]
* I never thought... never thought I’d be away from there.
* [...Subtly, her haiku mannerism breaks, a tell that went to show how shaken she was.]

* Conviction? Are you ready to go fishing with me?
* [Fishing, another new hobby Angelo is throwing himself into to relieve his boredom. At least he’s passionate about giving it a try, completely decked in fisher gear, even including a hat that has fishing tackle hanging from the brim, albeit all fake ones with dulled hooks, a high quality fishing rod, and a tackle box stocked to the brim with tackle, bait, and other supplies.]
* [At least he’s trying to share the hobby with another, though his choice seems somewhat strange from an outside perspective, Conviction doesn’t seem like one who would enjoy something like that, which really surprised him when she had agreed.]
* [Though maybe Scribe was a convincing factor in things.]

* [Conviction is back in her ninja suit by now, it having been dry-cleaned.. It seems to be even better fitting than before, now, even though it fit like a glove before. Maybe it was just because it was cleaner, having not been cleaned much in the years she had worn it. She’s also wearing a similar fisher’s hat, at the suggestion of Scribe, though she looks completely deadpan wearing it.]  * Yes, I am ready.  * Though I am still unsure what..  * this ‘fishing’ entails.
* [She still had her trusty tantos on her, same as always, though she had eventually become comfortable enough in the tower to leave them in Scribe’s room or otherwise disarm herself from time to time. The Seraph’s tower truly was leagues and bounds safer than even the most peaceful spots in Empress’s tower.]
* [Scribe did indeed convince the ninja dog, gently pushing her towards sharing some quality time with the Big dad god dog. Conviction stood in front of her friend, arms crossed, and, in her own words, Scribe convinced her.]
* "Personally, I just want to help satisfy this odd new curiousity he has in some mundane hobby without having to partake in it myself. He goes through these phases with them almost constantly and, odd as it is for the Seraph to be interested in these things, it does make him a bit happier for a while. But as much as I want him happy, i'm not sitting in a boat in the middle of the lake for hours doing nothing but throwing lines out in the water."
"...That...Sounds selfish now that I say it out loud. But...If you do it, at the very least, it gives you a reason to talk to him more. If not that, well, it's something relatively 'normal' compared to what little you told me about where you lived before."
* “...Perhaps you’re right, Scribe.”
* [That was all it took to convince Conviction, and now here she was, ready to depart with Angelo.]

* [Quietly, Conviction’s tail starts wagging.. She couldn’t really help it. Without thinking, she mutters something out, before her own face goes red.]
Tumblr media
* That’s.. that’s really cute.  * I mean! Come on, let’s go, woof!  * Where’s this, anyway??
* [She strides out of the elevator, completely flustered by her own slip and desperately wanting to keep her cool mask on. She had no idea how to deal with feeling like this and wanted it to stop right away.]

* .. I would like that, yes.  * Empress’s tower isn’t... * Hospitable, woof.
* [Convi looks around, attentively.. this kind of technology wasn’t foreign in Empress’s tower, even if it was brutal and dog-eat-dog there, literally. Nevertheless, it was interesting to see things like this in action.]
* Maybe they have, yes.  * I hope that I find it soon.  * It keeps me safe, boof.  * [Quietly, she opens the copy of Black Butler and starts reading.]

* [For some reason, the comics and manga got Scribe’s attention.. She walks over to the section and pulls out a copy of Black Butler, the first book in the series, before returning to Scribe’s side and following her once more.]
* Hm. How fancy, boof.  * Your angels lead better lives.  * ...I envy them all.
* [Convi just steps into the elevator, waiting for Scribe to join her. She tilts her head again, thinking..]
* Have you seen my hat?  * Helmet, to be specific.  * It’s part of my suit.

* [Convi feels that for sure.. She couldn’t climb like this, so she just hoped she didn’t need to. She’s checking her phone for a few moments before going red all of a sudden, pressing a few buttons and shoving it into her pocket. Evidently, someone there said something she didn’t like.]
* Hf.. r-right, same here.  * I’m glad Angelo’s better.  * But yes, let’s.. not, woof.
* [Conviction tilts her head, confused. How had this dog never heard of an omega, if they were created by one? It couldn’t hurt to tell them...]
* An omega is-
* [And she’s interrupted by the cherub, as well. She’d have to address it while they were walking.]
* Alright. Walk and talk it is.  * After you, Scribe, boof?
* [Apparently, Scribe was already getting the idea, which Conviction appreciated.. she didn’t like others walking behind her, a paranoia thing. Conviction just follows behind Scribe, entering into the library. Whoa.. Empress had nothing like this. She just looks up at the stacks and stacks of books, mesmerized for a moment.]

* [Conviction just keeps dressing as she speaks, slipping the sweater on, then the pants; it wasn’t the sheer comfort and protection of her suit, but it was better than nothing, at least. She felt less unprotected now, less vulnerable. Maybe this would be good after all.]
* Don’t worry, it’s fine.  * And I will ask next time, yeah.  * It’s a good drawing.
* [Convi tenses at the name, despite her saying it, herself only moments prior. That name held a lot of bad memories and trauma, and did nothing but remind her of the place she had come from, a literal hell on earth.]
* Empress is.. my mom.  * She’s also an omega.  * ...violently insane.
* [She just sighs and turns around to face Scribe, fully dressed by now and arms crossed, maintaining her own neutral expression once more.] * I’ll talk about her.  * If you want me to, of course.  * But.. it’s not happy.

* !!!
* [reflex reflex reflex REFLEX- she’s halfway through the process of throwing her hand up to activate her flashbomb spell before she catches herself and freezes, forcing herself to a neutral position.]
* [A moment later, she steps away from the book again, starting to slide the sweater on instead.. She speaks as she clothes herself, voice a little muffled.]
* Noted. I’m sorry.  * I enjoyed your writing, though.  * And that shark doodle.
* [Convi gives a small blush, again, remembering her own distractions to Scribe at the Cirque De Souls, and how she didn’t notice Convi. Perhaps that was for the best, she had a stoic image to keep up.]
* I was curious.  * One has to be in my home.  * Empress’s tower.

* [She likely would.. She was a smart dog, after all, and had already gleaned quite a bit about Empress from watching her ‘mother’ alone. Including her thoughts on the Seraph.. But she had to hear it from the mouth of the god himself.]
* Of course I won’t, woof.  * I told you my secrets, too.  * Though I have more to tell.  *[She reclines in her own seat.. and starts to take her helmet off. She wasn’t.. entirely comfortable here, but she figured it would be best, as a sign of trust. She didn’t take the helmet off for almost anyone, and it made her feel vulnerable. Under the helmet was.. not a doggy monstrosity, or a beast, but a bizarrely normal-looking german hunting terrier, albeit with red eyes.]

* So, let’s hear it, then.  * I understand, great Seraph.  * They won’t be fooled long.

* [Convi takes the sweaters and pants, giving them a long sniiiiifff. Smells like flowers. Smells nice. She had just met her and yet she was doing all this for her already..? It was a far cry from the tower, for sure.]
* ..You have my thanks, Scribe.
* [She can’t help but drop the clothes immediately and prance over to the book and read it, though. She was pretty curious, naturally. She bends over to read it, inadvertently exposing the Heart Butt. Her tail wags, too, her interest piqued.]

* [She could have clothing, of course, but it wouldn’t be the same as her suit. The one suit she had worn since the day that Empress created her, that was very rarely washed. It was like a security blanket, in a way. Even without the tantos and additional protection.]
* Appreciate it. * Anything would be fine, boof.  * Uh. If you don’t mind.
* [Convi lets out a sigh at that.. It was twice, now that he had saved her. She was actually starting to feel a debt to him, one that she had to repay. And if he didn’t want her to repay it, if there was no need.. Perhaps they could be friends instead.]
* I’ll thank him soon, boof.  * I think he knows already.  * And, no thanks, i’m not-
*[Her stomach gurgles, LOUDLY, causing her to flush red in the face. Well, no lying about that, now.]
*.....I’d like some food, yes.

* [It takes a few moments, but Scribe eventually notices her unclothed state, instantly tensing up and starting to panic, despite the calm surroundings. She was completely defenseless. No tantos, no suit. She still had her magic, but.. She wouldn’t want to blind Scribe. After a moment, she takes a few deep breaths, forcing herself to calm down.. After all, Scribe could have left her there. She didn’t. The least she could do is not flip out and attack.]
* N…It’s… it’s okay.  * I appreciate it, boof.  * Just give them back soon.
* [It’s only now she takes a good look at her surroundings, looking at Scribe’s room.. It was a nice place, a far cry from the carnage and wreckage of Empress’s tower, even if it was simple.]
* Should be more careful..  * 1 teleport is a lot.  * Four is just.. stupid.
* [She looks away, bashfully.]
*…Thanks for helping me.

*[The illusion works like a charm.. One of the members of the Archon Squad hears the window breaking and their head darts towards the illusion; they only get a glimpse, but it’s more than enough. Instantly, the one that saw ‘Convi’ starts to bark and howl loudly before dropping onto all fours and starting the chase; the rest follow after, hot on the heels of the first.]
* More clumsy than me.  * They don’t know me. No matter.  * Seems to have worked, woof.
* [Convi nods at the Seraph; While she was far too careful to carelessly break a window like that, only her and one or two others knew that, and it had fooled them soundly enough from what had just happened. She visibly relaxes, though not enough to let her guard down.]
* You’re smart, aren’t you?  * I would like some answers, yes.  * Maybe just talk, too.
* [She doesn’t sheathe her blades, but her grip on them loosens slightly, imperceptibly.]
* You’re a legend, here.  * ...In some parts of the tower.  * Who are you, really? And who is Empress?

* [Convi practically bolts inside at Angelo’s suggestion of the squad arriving, a new spring in her step at the notion of them once again finding the assassin. There’s a few chairs and a coffee table, evidently in the living room of the building, but Convi doesn’t sit down.]
* Because she made me.  * However, I don’t obey.  * ...She was upright, then.
* [Convi actually cringes a little at the memory.. She didn’t really trust Angelo and didn’t like talking about this, anyway.. For now, she wouldn’t reveal too many details while truthfully answering his questions.]
* She inverted, soon.  * Tried to kill me, but I ran.  * Running ever since.
* [Angelo would be able to see the squad hunting for Convi, a far cry from most other angels; they were coated head-to-toe in shiny, ornate metal armor, obscuring any semblance of dog underneath. Outwardly, they were aesthetically beautiful, finely crafted.. but something seemed deeply off about them and how they moved. They were sniffing things out, but didn’t seem to notice the two entering the house.]

*[There are a few Elims wandering around the mostly-abandoned town, but none that were looking for Convi specifically. They were mostly there to round up any who would cause trouble for them, or would harbor stragglers that didn’t want to fight.. A group of Archangels were on their way as they spoke, though part of a unit always searching for Convi, and the main reason she had to move around in the Tower so much.]
*Don’t want to kill you.
*[Convi tilts her head quizzically at the clean break of the latch and locks; She could probably do that with her tantos, but it would take some chopping. Of course, she could probably find an alternate entrance just as well.]
* I want answers, after all.  * I’m sure you do, too.
* [At his suggestion, Convi just nods, gesturing for him to enter; she’d follow after. It would be best he wasn’t behind her, in any case.]
* Go ahead, Seraph.

* [The Seraph rests his blade arm upon his shoulder, using his unmorphed hand to motion at the building. Of course, he should be expecting that from such a paranoid sort, but it is reasonable, he is on their turf.]
Tumblr media
* By all means, it is not like I need one. This form you see is not my true one, so killing me here would be fruitless anyway.
* [He begins to walk to it, keeping an eye out for any more of Empress’s “angels”, he is still on enemy territory and, if he knows the mad goddess, a betrayer like this suited dog would be worth her attention just as much as his own presence.]
* [When he gets to the door, he shoves his blade into the crack, swiftly snapping the sharp metal down and breaking the latch and locks. Faster than lockpicking, and more prudent for both of them, can’t be locked in and trapped. If the worst happened and they got found by the Empress, a simple barricade would be a fine replacement.]
* How shall we do this? Do I enter first and you take the front door?
