Do the textboxes have any "Grubblr"-esque mechanics? Or is it just a stylistic choice to show the characters muttering beneath their breath?

Every writer may have a different perspective, but I personally choose to believe the hashtags as mutterings that either may or may not be spoken aloud, with no real consequences whether they are or not. It's purely a stylistic choice for fun with nothing major in the way of meaning.

This is a false positive, probably caused by an experiment in Windows Defender's "cloud protection". The "!ml" at the end stands for "machine learning", which means it guessed and guessed wrong.

This false positive should be fixed when the game is rebuilt next.

Just as a formal update on how things are going:

While I don't consider the game officially cancelled, there hasn't been as much momentum as I'd like to get this thing finished. I'd say about 90% of the assets for Kankri + Meulin are done but are missing some pretty crucial ones. I don't want to keep answering posts and saying "we're still working on it" for the next year so for the time being, consider the game dormant, but not done for.

hello! not sure if y'all are active atm, but i recently downloaded the game off of your itch io and windows defender ended up finding the trojan virus Win32/Uwamson.A!ml within the files. not sure if y'all have a way of fixing this, but it's pretty concerning. i'm lucky my computer caught it and quarantined the program before it fucked anything up.

The automatic update system we implemented in the game ended up picking a false positive for some antivirus programs. We have a fix for this that'll take effect next update, it's just unfortunately been a bit of a journey getting said update done in the first place.

Besides feferi, do the other beta trolls like karkat and gamzee exist on beforus in the background, and are any of their ancestors aware they exist? I always wondered what eridan would think of Coronus as his descendant.

Scorpina's journal is all about the beta trolls. You just gotta figure out who's who.

By the time the alpha trolls were hatched, 90% of the ancestors are dead, so they don't really have opinions on the matter.

NEVERMIND I GUESS

After enabling developer mode (Shift+T on the main menu), start Mituna's route, press Shift+O to open the console, and paste the line QuirkStore['mituna'] = [("(.+)", lambda m: m.group(1).upper())] + [(c, "4831057"[i]) for i, c in enumerate("ABEIOST")]. Then press escape to drop back into the route.

hey i know this is weird but do you have any way that i could change mituna's quirk into the one he uses in openbound ? my brain refuses to read his text in any other way and i really wanna read his part, he's my favourite.

There's no way in-game to change Mituna's quirk to his Openbound quirk (barring, minor spoilers, a small section in one of his endings). You're able to turn his quirk off all-together, but the changes made to Mituna's quirk are very intentional (seeing as how he's a very different person in this pre-Openbound era) and we haven't seen the need to include an "Openbound setting" in this regard.

Best I could recommend for you would be to go through and quirkify the existing transcripts if you absolutely need to see his quirk as you're used to it.
