Glove Boxes

Much like fume hoods, glove boxes are designed to put barriers between experiments, chemicals, and other hazards and the scientist or researcher in question. Unlike fume hoods, which are only partially enclosed, glove boxes are completely enclosed. While they can be operated with a typical atmosphere of air, glove boxes are also designed to allow for different atmospheres for experiments that cannot or should not interact with air, including inert gases such as nitrogen or argon, or even a vacuum.
