“There is a subtle meaning here, for alongside His name "the Loving (al-Wadood)" He mentions His name *the Oft-Forgiving (al-Ghafoor)". So as to indicate that if the sinners repent to Allah and turn to Him, He will forgive their sins and love them, so that it cannot be said that He will forgive their sins but love will not be restored to them, as some erroneously suggested.
Rather Allah rejoices over the repentance of His slave when he repents, more than a man rejoices over his camel on which is his food and drink and all that he needs on his journey, which he loses in the rugged and dangerous wilderness, so he despairs of it and lies down in the shade of a tree to await death, then whilst he is in that state, his mount appears at his head, so he seizes its reins. Allah rejoices more over the repentance of His slave than this man rejoices over his mount, and this is a great joy that cannot be surpassed.
To Allah be praise and pure love; how great is His kindness and goodness, how abundant His grace and favour.”

All this while I've been drowning myself in distractions because I did not want to feel the pain or the grief of everything that has happened, everything that didn't happen and everything and everyone I've lost. But, in this Ramadan, I've laid my distractions aside. And I've finally allowed myself to feel; and the grief came crashing down, making me remember and mourn and long for a bygone era, a bygone life.
But, this is Ramadan, and these are the last 10 nights, which means there's no end to Allah's mercy, forgiveness, hope. No matter the grief that never seems to leave me, and no matter the constant yearning, with Allah, there's no end to hope.
There's no end to hope.
Alhamdulillah.

Authenticity of Du’â: “Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).’”
Question: What is the authenticity of this Hadīth?
‘Ā'îshāh said: “O Messenger of Allāh, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Lâylâtûl-Qâdr?” He said: “Say: ‘Allāhûmmâ innâkâ ‘afūwwûn tuhîbbûl-‘afwâ, fâ’fû ‘annî (O Allāh, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).'”
Answer: There is a dispute about this Hadîth. Imâm At-Tirmithî stated it is “Hasan Sahîh”. However, Imām Ad-Dâraqutnî stated that ‘Abdullâh Ibn Buraydah (the narrator from ‘Ā’îshâh) did not hear from ‘Ā’îshāh.
Likewise, there is a dispute about whether it is actually attributed to the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم, or if it is from the words of ‘Ā’îshâh.
What seems apparent from the methodology of Imām An-Nasā’î is that he considered the correct narration to be the one from ‘Ā’îshâh and not the one from the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم. This is because he first mentioned the narration from the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم, then followed it with the narration from ‘Ā’îshâh. And this is what he generally does; mentions the incorrect narration, then the correct narration.
However, this also does not mean he considered it authentic; just that he considered it to be the more correct narration.
As for acting upon it, then we say: We can’t say the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم, said it or told is to say it. Likewise, we can’t say that it is Sunnah to say on Lâylât al-Qâdr or any other time.
However, since Du’ā’ in general is something that can be said in any manner we want as long as it doesn’t contain anything Harām, and since this Du’â’ asks Allāh for something good and mentions some of His Attributes, there is no problem with using it.
And Allâh Knows Best.

How are you, my love?
The dire situation of the ummah reminded me of you. How is your heart? I know it is bleeding at the pain of what is happening. I know your sorrow, and how it engulfs you in times like these. It is why I have loved you for so long. It is why I am proud of my love. For it reminds me that my love is for those who care for the ummah, who bleed for the ummah, who haven't forgotten nor forsaken the ummah and those who defend it and those who suffer for it. My love for you gives me hope, that not all is lost in this world. Goodness still exists somewhere.
My love, I will pray for you and your heart, as I pray for this ummah and its woes. May our love unite us under the Arsh of Allah one day. Take care, and remember me. Remember that once you loved a soul who shared your sorrow as well. Remember my name, and ask for me in the next life if we never meet in this one again.

Tonight's full moon marks the 15th night of Ramadan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ramadan arrived while we were waiting for it's arrival the way burning forest halts for the rain to shower it's ashes, the way winter awaits for spring to calm down it's freezing breeze, the way sea shore anticipate for the coming of gigantic wave to quench it's draughty plains, how soon it came and how soon it's slipping away from our hands. I pray this Ramadan heals our soul, mind, heart and bodies.

"Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the akhira) wants to return to this world - even if he were to be given the whole world and what is in it - except for a martyr who, on seeing the excellence of being a martyr, wants to come back to this world and be killed again (in the Way of Allah)."
