I was very eager to see the city, explore the area and visit Medina, so we ordered a taxi straight after breakfast. The ride took about 10 minutes or so and did cost 5 Tunisian dinars (less than 2 euros).

I stayed in a 3-star hotel Marabout. And as I mentioned in the previous post it is located in Sousse. The pictures on the internet looked great, as they usually do. But to be honest with you I had mixed feelings about this hotel on a day of my arrival.

I started checking holiday package offers quite early this time, even before I knew the exact vacation days. And within a few minutes I found a very nice offer on Aurinkomatkat. Seven-day trip to Marmaris (Turkey), straight Finnair flights and an accommodation in a 3-star apartment-hotel cost only 300 euros per person. “Not bad”, thought I and started dreaming about my upcoming perfect getaway.

Originally me and my mom were thinking to go to Ventspils, since none of us have ever been there. But I thought it would be best to visit this city some other day and by car; the bus trip would be exhausting, because it takes over three hours, if I’m not mistaken.

I've always loved horses, I even used to work in the stable, so that I would have a chance to ride a horse once in a while. But during my stay in Tunisia I was introduced to the camel riding, which turned out to be more fun than horseback riding (well, at least for me). Camels are magnificent creatures, beautiful and graceful in their own way. It was such an incredible experience! I wanted to attend Häme Medieval Festival for two years now. I was obsessed with the idea after I visited Medieval market in Turku back in 2017. It was my first Medieval experience and I loved it! And I am so happy that I finally got a chance to join the Middle Ages fans just like myself in Häme this year.

Exploring Finland: Nuuksio National Park of Espoo

Thoughts of our unplanned “expedition” to the magical forest of Jämsä made me want to go back. Unfortunately, it was impossible since we live in Espoo. But at that point it didn’t really matter where we go, I just wanted to go out, to go for a walk in the woods. I wanted to be close to nature. I wanted to feel like an explorer once again.
