The newest region makes me think of how young dottore is. Like yeah he's a heretic and breaking the laws of tayvat but his existence is a tiny blip in the history of this universe. No matter what advancements he makes in science or heresy, he matters little in the grand scheme of things
That's the essence of science, yes

Also can we take a moment and appreciate that Freminet canonically uses The Bell.
That one sword no one knew who to put on.

I FOUND SAMPO CONCEPT ART!!!!!!!!!

Here is the translation from Google:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is huge:
it confirms that Sampo’s design is mean to be snake based
directly talks about some hidden powers of his and describes him as dangerous and someone who hides their true thoughts
also he’s a KEY FIGURE!!!
And he is the one changing the outcome of the war, confirming that he kind of is orchestrating Jarilo-VI’s events behind the scenes

Chilumi alive and kicking, I'm dreaming with you!
This is also a very interesting case because it would be the first time our guy has done anything for the Traveler.
He relies on us a lot, sure, but it's never the other way around (well, he generously offers to kill someone for us in the birthday celebration line but that's about it). Him suddenly deciding to be of help and doing so unprompted it just precious. <3
Siblings just seem to be his topic of choice when he needs to give a 20m lecture unprepared but he doesn't actually talk about them *that* much!
Also he used a monologue about Teucer to provoke thugs in 4.0. After which he immediately switched to other themes, implying it was't really what he wanted to talk about. So he has a track record of doing something similar.
The boy is a lot more intentional in both his words and actions than the fandom gives him credit for.
@chickenparm mentioned it and now I have to write about it (I had the same impression too but wasn't sure I wasn't imagining things. I guess at least I'm not the only one).
In that Arle conversation Childe seems to have picked up that we were trying to stall her, and that's why he launched into all that monologuing about his siblings.
He helped us. He didn't know why we needed to distract Arle but he helped us anyway.
At least that's how I want to interpret it. So he does care, huh.
(or maybe he cares about the HoH kids and Lyney asked him to distract Arle as well)
Arle seems to have noticed that too, she later jokes "how are you going to distract me now that Childe isn't here".

I'm actually very curious! Gaming questions as requested-
7: a game you'll never forget?
16: character you've hated the most? What game?
7. Tyranny
Incredible worldbuilding and lore, 10/10, I still use concepts from it when I come up with stories.
Bronze age setting, beliefs shaping the world, the whole concept of fatebinders (a government official who is a conduit for a spell of a god-ruler), law and magic being inseparable. The way you defeat The Voices of Nerat.
(I am so not spoiling it if you haven't played)
"I do not recognize the authority of this court to judge me" is still the quote.
I think everyone who enjoys Genshin deep lore should play it, these are stories of similar nature.
16. Now this is a very hard question, it's hard for me to hate things that don't cause lasting harm, especially video game characters.
I remember a moment of extremely strong anger though, it was Elidibus in FF14.
Throughout the story you meet a certain blood knight and you get to fight him a few times. He completely obliterates you the first time (I was a newish player so it felt like hitting a wall after being used to cutting through enemies like they are butter), eventually you get stronger and defeat him and then a guy possessing his body shows up. And fights you, of course.
And to me it just felt so wrong.
Yes, technically he was using the same attacks but they were slow and heavy-handed, no familiar chaos in them. And it's not like I liked the original body owner either but the new one was so pathetically boring.
I was seething. He insulted my favorite enemy's good name by pretending to be him.
I still think it's an excellent example of storytelling-through-gameplay.
