THE FANDOM HAS MADE FAR MORE IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CREATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THESE CHARACTERS THAT WERE BASICALLY THROWN AWAY BY THE CREATORS THEMSELVES, (honestly the amount of shit the cc! just stole from the fandom then accepted the praise for is. plain ridiculous)

So i am not abandoning this, the dsmp etc, because they already did. and honestly seperating the characters and their designs from the CC opens up a major new direction for them.

I pirate youtube, and at this point there ain't any content for them on twitch regarding the dsmp, so i am not supporting via watching vids etc, though i am uncomfortable watching their videos still, and will be mainly sticking to perpectives and videos that have minimal interaction with these people

Additionally as we move forward enjoying and creating with this fandom, we do need to critically look at the serious and consider how the beliefs of some of the creators, especially given how much power they had comparatively, may have influenced the story. Easily seen is the lack of women and how many of these women were forced, even in their own story, to be come the baker, the therapist, or the supporting henchman.

in light of recent allegations towards Wilbur Soot I will no longer be posting any content concerning him or any of his fictional personas for an unknown period of time. I've only seen hate towards him, and yes what he did was horrible and I myself do not condone any of his actions on any level of any kind. It is not something to be taken lightly.

However...as a fan of both his video content and musical, it is a difficult thing to process as a man you have idolized for years is now being painted as the worst villain you could ever imagine him as.

Maybe Wilbur isn't a good person, maybe he deserves to be abandoned by every person ever close to him and have his career torn to shreds. Maybe he deserves everything that will likely be coming to him, but as a fan of what he has done in concern of entertainment and the storylines he has crafted to appease us, I can only hope that there is some sliver of redemption for him. This I say as, again, someone who has been admittedly obsessive with his content and hell, my main character for my real novel was originally based in likeness of him, granted this has changed over developement, Wilbur is still his core and Wilbur's content across multiple smp's and streams inspired many little concepts of this book.

So no, I do not condone Wilbur Soot's actions, and these allegations and admitted acts make me sick and saddened to find out, but there are some of us that will still love him after this is all said and done. Maybe not who is now, but who we was for us all those years ago. Wilbur Soot is not a good person, and I am deeply sorry for Shubble and I hope she recovers from these events quickly, and to my fellow fans who are just as shocked and hoping for a way through this.

I am sorry to you as well. Most of you probably won't see this, but abuse is an awful thing and to see someone whom you adored being at the center of pointed fingers can sometimes be just as painful. NOT that I am at all comparing or equalizing the two, but if the situation continues to go south as it probably will, we will be losing a hero and an inspiration.

So please, those who are pointing fingers, I am not saying to dull your words or sugar-coat your facts, I am just saying that if you know someone who might have been a fan of Wilbur, don't lash out at them. Do not reply angrily at them hoping that maybe, just maybe, there is hope for him yet.

There likely isn't, but this is a world of dreamers. Let us dream.

Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket. And you got the Soviets naming their rocket “fellow traveler.” Like a friend you go on an  adventure with together. This rocket is our little friend lol

utterly losing my mind that literally right as i was putting up our display for banned books week coming up in september, my boss got a call saying that the county higher ups have declared that we’re prohibited from saying “banned books” in association with any library programs or materials. “freedom to read” is okay apparently, but the phase “banned books” is, well, banned. if i tried to publish this scenario in a novel, my editor would probably send it back with a note saying that the irony is a bit too on the nose & that i need to tone it down a little. we have censored the discussion of censorship. i cannot handle how hilarious this is
