In my life I have been blessed with many friends and only a few enemies or ‘Frenemies’, but because of my own trauma response it took me a long time to make peace with those people and to understand that their issues were not my issues and no amount of their toxicity and manipulation could break my new boundaries and that; that was okay. Not only that; that was okay but that it was healthy. That little girl trauma voice kept second guessing for a long time, kept apologizing, kept trying to make repairs, and those really good manipulators and narcissists can dig in and make it hard to believe in yourself. So if you find that you understand what I’m talking about, stand tall. Home, in layers, under layers, with a fire, and a 101.7 fever and, resting, and in total awe of our son and how he has ended Q2 of High School & his first semester (6 credits) of college with amazing grades! More than that, better than that is what everyone says about his character, who he is, and how he carries himself and those compliments go very deep into our hearts. We served the teachers/admin today again for Q2, and they are so deserving and special….we love doing for them! I barely made it through without collapsing, but of course the other amazing parents were there to shine and pick up the load. Again, we are so thankful. There is a lot of good in the world and we just have to focus on it to help us with the weight of the struggles.
