It's really funny that A24's Green Knight movie explicitly included a you/thou distinction in the first 30 minutes, fucked it up in every single line, and then just gave up and had every character "you" each other the rest of the runtime. That movie in general really really needed better editing but poor pacing and thematic confusion are more subjective and abstract while having a character address a group as "thee" is both objective and easily fixed. I have very low mental energy right now so I don't have the psychic defenses to withstand the irrationality and wastefulness of it all without becoming deeply affected.
