question about antidepressant, specifically venlafaxine, for those who do or have taken it:

long story short, my pcp currently prescribes my mental health meds bc my psychiatrist dropped off the face of the earth a while back and i haven't found a new one yet.

i currently take 20mg of escitalopram but during a standard checkup the other day, my pcp was alarmed by my depression questionnaire results (even tho i explained the reasoning for them) and recommended changing to 150mg of venlafaxine. he didn't tell me much about it other than what it's generally used for and went ahead and stopped the escitalopram and ordered the venlafaxine.

i haven't picked it up yet, so i'd be starting next week, but i'm kinda concerned from doing my own research about how this will actually affect me. so i guess i'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share whether or not this switch might be a good or a bad idea? or just tell me their general experience? it's got me kinda spooked tbh.

had to have a wellness appointment with my pcp and filled out the paperwork online ahead of time. one of the forms was the standard depression questionnaire and i guess my answers freaked my doctor out bc they made me do another one in person, he asked me why my score was so high and i explained that the world is fucking awful right now, that's why. but apparently he was still spooked enough to switch me to an entirely new antidepressant at a much higher dose and is sending me home with another questionnaire to fill out in a few weeks. lmao

Merlin has Gold Eyes: Prompt/Idea

Magic turns eyes gold. Merlin is magic. Therefore his should be gold.

They start off blue, but the longer he’s in Camelot, the more his magic grows, the more in tune with the magic inside him he is, they slowly start to turn gold even when not casting spells.

It starts slowly, almost unnoticeable at first. Just little flecks of gold in his irises that could just be a trick of the light. But then there’s more and more. The blue is turning to gold and staying that way. There’s nothing he can do to stop it.
