In basics terms: the Senate (or at least the corrupt part of the Senate) absolutely did not like outliers, low caste bots, revolutionaries, rebels, bots who didn’t do as their frame type was supposed to do, bots who weren’t from Iacon, and after a while, cracked down on minibots. Bumblebee is an outlier, a minibot, and a few others mixed in. The Senate would immediately go after him.

Astrotrain had a conjunx and a couple of sparklings on the way before the war, but they all died near the start of the war. After the Triple Changer Experiment, Astrotrain forgot about them

There MIGHT be a chance he will have flashbacks about them, probably in his dreams.

Cybertronians can either be forged or born as sparklings. Originally they could only be forged, but after Primus noticed that Unicron’s forces were destroying all of the forges or taking them over, he gave Cybertronians the other way to make sure they wouldn’t all die off

Yeah it would be fuckin wild. Imagine being one of the older bots and the new generation having the ability to forge sparklings within them: that’s insane for them.

minibot sparklings are basically the baby pandas of Cybertronians when hatched, and that, coupled with the fact that there used to be this dumbass idea that hatching minibot sparklings prematurely helps them in any way (it doesn’t, Ratchet will tell you that it just starves the sparkling), will cause them to imprint on anyone who takes care of them.

so it’s an adaptation.
