Due to lack of activity, Calamity’s blog is going to be archived. I still RP as an Amphibia muse, though- if you recall the Cloak-Bot from S3, I have a canon-divergent variant of it on my main multimuse, @galaxies-unknown. Thank you, those of you who showed an interest in Calamity.

I’m still on @galaxies-unknown a lot more, but I thought this would be an appropriate place to mention:

I’m adding Cloak-Bot (nicknamed “Clove”) to my main multimuse, and adding a few headcanons for Cam over here. Headcanons under the cut!

Cam has always had a personalized say in who became embodiments of Heart, Strength, and Wit in each world.

King Andrias would use this knowledge to kill would-be heroes who could stand against his endless conquest.

This gave Cam great guilt, since she could not stop the choosing process- only influence who was chosen.

Cam has constant access to the complete energy of the Heart, Strength, and Wit gems- save when Anne, Sasha, and Marcy try to use said energy for their ‘super forms’.

Cam (blog-canon) is still pre-takeover. But, soon, I plan to update her so that she’s a prisoner of King Andrias (she is, after all, literally the Calamity Box).

She does have champions in Amphibia- but these are thankfully not known to King Andrias, who has not bothered to ask/scan Amphibia for any hints of their energies.

The heroes of Amphibia are: Sprig Plantar (Heart), Maddie Flour (Wit), and Ivy Sundew (Strength).

Cam does have a few friends in the ranks of frobots that King Andrias has. None have been found out (yet).

Frobo was amongst these ranks, long ago.

“Ha! Tell me about it,” Wally guffawed. He slowed and tapped his foot, thinking on that for a second. “Well actually, I do like performing. And attention. Ah— what am I talking about— I love the spotlight!”

Hmm, performing. It was then that Wally remembered that he still had his concertina with him. Of course, he almost always carried it on him, but he’d been so preoccupied meeting the other, that he’d nearly forgotten his weapon of choice.

His good eye darted around to the bushes, checking one more time to see that the path was clear. Satisfied with the answer, Wally pulled his instrument from the back of his vest and slipped his fingers into the straps. Just the weight of it in his hands was already a massive relief.

“Also, don’t see why you can’t have a walk and a performance,” he added. He pressed the air key, motioning a silent bellows-out, bellows-in.

Perhaps his behavior would be baffling to some, appearing cautious one moment, then confidently readying his instrument the next. But there was a method to his madness, or so Wally believed.

“You can have it- I wouldn’t mind pointing it your way, though!” Cam raised a hand to her face, tapping at one of her own eyes to make sure it was real. Of course, there was no pain- pain was impossible when one’s true form was currently unseen- but it was still funny to see the finger enter her view only to vanish as it got closer, then reappear as it got farther away. “Maybe if I was younger I’d be a bit more into the spotlight, but some old friends kinda turned me off from the whole thing.”

She waved her hand lightly, as if tossing the whole idea aside.- That was when Wally pulled the instrument that had been on his back, and made a comment about a walk mixed with a performance. Cam had opened her mouth to say something, but the notes had already started- and she had no intent of disrupting a performance.

Cam was quiet as the notes filled the air around the two, an odd tangy tone that stomped like an angry toad- but somehow, in a good way. It was strange- she’d never heard music played quite like that before. Back at the castle, all she’d heard were the plays of ancient battles, songs done in memory of fallen warriors and worlds unknown- but this was different. Laid-back, the sort of music found in the backwater towns of Amphibia.

And she liked it.

Her smile shrank- no longer the smile of some galavanting mad-newt in the woods, but a soft grin of someone enjoying a performance. Cam started bobbing her head to the beat, a quiet laugh escaping her as she did so. The gem under her chestplate glowed a faint fraction brighter, painting her chin and neck in a blue, ethereal light.

“You really know how to play that, don’t you?” Her eyes flashed towards the musician. “Any chance you could teach me, sometime?” It hit her then that she was interrupting mid-performance. Something she could apologize for in a moment, she supposed. Hopefully Wally didn’t mind for the time being!

“Cam, is it?” An unusual name. The frog still wished that Cam would ease off the volume just a little bit since they were still in the middle of the forest. But if it weren’t for the current situation, he realized plenty of others would probably say the same about him. Ah, touché.

He thought about what the newt had said of her origins. Both all over and nowhere. It was a concept that still resonated with him, even after he’d started considering Wartwood his home. But there was a part of him that wasn’t sure if he was allowed to call it ‘home’ yet. It wasn’t, really. He lived in Ribbitvale because that’s where his family was. Still, to even think that he truly belonged there, not here, made his skin crawl. The more he turned over Cam’s assumption, the less sure he was of the answer. Time to redirect.

“You a runaway?”

“Glad you remembered!” She beamed at the frog. Despite the danger, she wasn’t particularly worried. If something showed up, she would just have some more fun! It made no difference to her by either path. She chuckled as the other questioned her runaway status.

Internally, the word ‘runaway’ had long since lost meaning. If she had never had family, what was there to run away from? She had had false friends, masters even, but never anything she considered worthy of the word ‘runaway’. She shrugged in response, that grin never faltering on her face.

“I guess you could call me that!” Honestly, she wouldn’t mind if he suddenly vanished or if he stayed for hours. Either way, she was enjoying herself- something she’d rather stick to doing over anything else. “But really, what was there to run away from?” She giggled, as if the words themselves were some sort of joke.

Cam turned to watch the other bound towards a bush, checking around it. He seemed like a rather cautious fellow, so perhaps he had some powers of wit at his disposal? Something she could ask at another time. Cam took the opportunity to walk after the frog, a bit curious herself about the other. The mention of a circus not a moment later was met with a surprised laugh from Cam.

“Had no intent of joining a circus, trust me.” She crossed her arms. “I suppose I already am a bum, what with the lack of home and whatnot... But I do have some coppers and the like, so I’m fine as is.” A circus... Now that would be too much attention. She didn’t want any frogs, newts, toads, or otherwise clawing at her frame for a chance at multiversal travel. “Besides, I’ve never been a fan of the spotlight! Too much pressure. Give me a good old walk over a performance any day.”
