Thinking about how, of the two Christian music artists I have (at one point or another) been obsessed with who later came out as gay (insert two nickels meme), the one who was committed to keeping his faith and being celibate was kicked out of his church and almost lost his music career while the one who denounced his faith and divorced his wife to live a gay lifestyle was able to switch genres and still have a successful secular career.

Sudoku puzzle blanket!

I came up with this idea when I was thinking about how to properly randomize the colors in a granny square blanket.

You'll need 9 different colors (I used white + 8 shades of purple) and 9 squares of each color. Assign each color a number 1-9. Get a completed sudoku puzzle (or solve one yourself) and start assembling!

I had my squares organized in this bin while I was working and kept this picture saved in my phone with the sudoku puzzle picture to make sure I didn't mix any of the numbers up.

everyone knows about Joseph as a christ-type, the favorite son prophesied to be raised to glory and save the people thru his suffering, but perhaps we are sleeping on Benjamin, the innocent [interestingly the other son of Rachel] involved in a hostage exchange for the guilty in order to bring forgiveness to the other brothers

So about a week ago, somebody abandoned a dog near my boss's house. She called the sheriff to come pick it up, but the deputy couldn't catch it. So she's been feeding it for the last week hoping that it would let her get close. Last night we had a thunderstorm and she woke up to her other dogs barking and throwing a fit. She goes out into the hallway and there, just inside the doggy-door, is the dog, who proceeded to make herself at home. So far, my boss and her husband are thinking they'll keep it. This will bring their current dog total to 6.

All the 'haha caffeine makes you vibrate' jokes are good fun, but this is your unfriendly periodic reminder that caffeine is a drug and should be treated with the same care and respect as any other drug. I made very poor decisions yesterday; when I realized that I had just consumed 4 espresso shots and had every intention of downing 2 more I should have excused myself from work on safety concerns, instead of going in and working around automated conveyors, pallet jacks, and heavy equipment while seriously impaired. When I confided to my boss that I had consumed 6 espresso shots in the last hour he should have sent me home. 12 hours after I actually drank this my hands were still shaking and I woke up this morning with stabbing pains in my chest. As amusing, and in the long term probably harmless, as yesterday's incident was. It was also extremely unwise and unsafe

#caffeine can really help with my mood #but i have to balance that with using it sparingly #i definitely don't want to develop a dependence #and if i've had it consistently and then miss a day the headaches are not fun

maybe this is a fundamental difference in moral views because i think oppression isn't bad because it harms certain groups, it's bad because it harms people. it DOES harm specific groups, and that's a necessary part of understanding it, but the mistreatment is the problem, not the fact that that mistreatment is unfairly distributed
