I would usually consider myself Mat Cauthon’s #1 defender and fan but then I remember Rand exists and I realize I’m a distant second place.
Tuon told him about how Mat literally kidnapped her and he straight up went “oh well, you probably deserved it. I’m sure he had a reason.”
Rand looks at Mat and goes “he’s just a silly little fella :)” and ignores all his crimes. Mat could stab someone out of nowhere and Rand’s first question would be “Mat! Are you hurt?” And the second “what did that guy do to you?”

He could tell that she was hurt and that she needed help in spite of the insistence that she didn't need any at all. "Nonsense." He said with a shake of his head. "You don't worry about it. But it might not...well, it might not be pretty." His Healing Weaves had never been successful but Rand was more than sure that he could stitch up this wound easily enough. "How did you get this if you don't mind my asking?"
@caracarnn sent: patch, sender patches up receiver's wounds.
" you don't have to do this," feyre says, voice weak. she doesn't resist when the other starts bandaging her arm, however. it goes on a few moments until it hits feyre how unnecessary this all is. " seriously." she tries to put more hardness in her voice, but the injury was making that a bit difficult. " i have healing power, i just need to --" feyre tries to sit up, but the motion only makes her hiss. the moment passes: " ... you don't have to worry, is what i mean. thank you for the help though...."

"I'm not even sure." He answered with a bit of deflation. "I guess that it has something to do with me...magic. I can't figure it out." He sounded a bit pathetic. "Can you help?"
KEVYN REID. she watched him and tilted her head, cerulean hues fixated solely on him and soon, her brows had risen in the slightest. something was wrong with him? how? her tongue darted out to moisten her lesser lip, her greater one alike. ❝ what do you mean something is wrong with me? ❞

He let out a low breath as he lowered his eyes. He knows that she wouldn't want that. She wouldn't think that this was a good idea, his deflecting and taking it all on himself but what could he do? "We are." He agreed with a nod of his head in agreement. "But, Nynaeve, no matter what you do - you can't do this for me."
❝ i was in danger anyway. ❞ oh, the stupid, self-sacrificing boy; he no longer needs a wisdom's guidance, not with all that he is, but nynaeve can't help the protectiveness she feels towards her two rivers friends, even when they are the ones protecting her. ❝ we all were. this is bigger than just you, rand, and we're better together, aren't we? ❞

"Far too odd of one, if I'm going to have to admit. It might even be that maybe I just don't understand these different paradoxes."
"You're thinking too deeply about it, hence it doesn't make sense, the less you continuously mull the thought in your head the sudden realization shall hit. It's an odd paradox, don't you think?"

"Are we going to have time for that? seems like a lot of work to do on your own birthday."
❝ we can do that... or if you are up to it we can make them together ? ❞

@facesblind: setting: 033. the dark depths of an abandoned mine . what are they doing there?
He could say that they were here to hide out after all this place was well secured but Rand knew better. He knew that he was here for a reason. That reason being the artifact that he was sure to find down here, buried within the dust and debris. He took a heavy breath before he drew his gaze towards her. "You don't have to stay down here." He told her. "But it is safer down here. I know it doesn't seem it..." and something groaned in the distance. Light, what had he gotten them into?

@facesblind: [ shield ] receiver steps between sender and danger.
He was rather breathless the moment that the Weave was put into place and fire sprouted up before him. It was almost as though the earth had torn open and fire began to rise up from within, engulfing the danger that had sought her life. He still seized Saidin as he turned around to face her, taking sharp breaths as he met her eyes. "Are you alright? I've seen them rip apart whole villages much less one person." He was worried. He hadn't been able to save anyone in quite sometime, something like distrust heavy towards him for a reason Rand couldn't understand.

" its called shapechanging.. not.. morphing."
"I really didn't mean to offend." He said with a shake of his head, lifting his hands as though to wave any bad response. "I just figured that maybe it was the same." It sounded the same to him.

“You have a lot of experience with this.”
"I try to make it seem that way, at least." he answered with a nod of his head. He knows that experience doesn't mean success but he hopes that it can turn into that. He needs it to. "What about you? Do you have experience in it?"
