taz steeplechase is so incredible as a setting. it's a disney dystopian sovereign state/tower of babel thing that's been standing for more than a generation. it's been there for so long that there's a ton of old defunct animatronics robots abandoned here and there and they're all super creepy.

Even the employees are so taken in by the allure of the park that they spend their whole paychecks to have fun in the park on their free time. There's a whole layer dedicated to nostalgia.

When they realized that too many kids had been abandoned by their parents in the daycare park, they just bricked up the whole thing with the kids still inside and used it as a garbage dump/prison colony, so that there's just this Mad Max-esque post-apocalyptic world with very real stakes within Disneyland where old animatronics try to kill you

revisiting the balance finale and I am completely fascinated by davenport immediately concluding that they need to leave on the starblaster and continue to the next cycle. that’s so wild. it asks you to confront the fact that, even though the stolen century was only a few episodes, it covers 100 times more time than the rest of the podcast. davenport is ready for these last ten years to be just an incident in a long list of incidents. he’s ready for another 100 years, however long it takes to figure out a better plan. the fact that it could bring lup back! the fact that if lucretia won’t agree, it’s better to kill her and talk about it next cycle if need be! the fact that none of them could stay even if they wanted to. the fact that davenport of all of them is the most willing to let the world burn. would he have waited to try and get the light from lucretia? would taako? imagine what the first moments of them reforming in a new planar system would be. holy istus i can’t stop thinking about it.

HERE BE KRONOS PLOTLINE REWRITE (kind of) (help pls)

Hi, hello. Okay.

I know that I’ve previously deemed myself LO-critical because eh, I’m a writer and I really, really like fleshing out characters that don’t get enough screentime in a way that some people don’t agree with—and that’s cool. Sometimes I treat canon like a house cat would treat a native species of bird: so, to say. I like playing with canon’s guts sometimes. But I’m sticking my toe into this tag for the simple fact that I fucking love horror, and really, really hoped, alongside a lot of other people, that LO would have done different things for the Kronos plotline.

Originally, during the hiatus last year, I wanted to write how I thought it would go down—and then ended up having some life stuff that happened, so I didn’t get it out. Then, I wrote a fic that turned into a series of character examinations, anyways, called Wouldn’t You Like To Know, Weather-Boy?

I like those examinations, but I felt it grow legs and I felt the urge to do something bigger. And as previously mentioned, I was really, really disappointed with how they handled Kronos. I wanted some freaking subterfuge! I wanted some underground resistance! I wanted Kronos to show off that he’s a freaky time-god-bitch! So, I started outlining a fic, and here’s the short and sweet:

Kronos takes over, and saving the world isn’t going to be that easy, this time. Persephone is forced to grow into her powers on-screen instead of everyone just saying that she’s got her shit together and negating her one single canon character flaw (not having control of herself). Hecate runs an underground resistance with eight dogs. Hecate needs a beer. Zeus gets to actually show off the fact that he won a war. Apollo gets to be a scheming little bastard whose threat isn’t slashed by Persephone’s overpowered ass. Leto is spooky, and does necromancy. Echo doesn’t just mysteriously vanish and has a character arc! Titanomachy lore! KRONOS IS SPOOKY.

In all seriousness, this is actually a callout to: WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE WANTED TO SEE? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE BUT ASSUME THAT LO WON’T GIVE YOU?

Rachel get a eye test

Apparently Persephone’s dress in that chapter supposed to be inspired by the shrooms above but I don’t see and recognition in the dress and shrooms at all, u know what Rachel get a fucking eye test cos what I see is some cheap white dress I can get from the shops with a a cloak and some poorly painted green seaweed and raspberry seeds or whatever and I wear glasses and even I take them off it will be blurry but I can still see the that there not recognisable

one thing whenever I see her with the red eyes or angry I get a little taste of cringe cos it reminds me of u know the y/n bullshit
