hong jo finding that her name is saved as 'civil servant (haunted house)' while she saved his name as a nickname (groot) will forever be one of the saddest things I have seen on television. Also I get that he is in denial(?) But when he said that I have her (nayeon) why would I want u while standing outside her house is actually crazy!!!

why i will actually kill the aos writers if season two is a tragedy, from an objective standpoint:

this is by no means a perfect show, but season one had so many moments that created a well crafted narrative. a season two was obviously necessary not because of the depressing ending, but because there were too many loose ends that were not tied up. sad they're fumbling with the ball even though i'm not even surpised. anyways.

season one made sense for it to be a tragedy, and it was a tragedy that was done well. what makes a tragedy so great is that no matter how much you wish things could have gone another way, the characters' choices were made adhering to their motivations and traits so that it feels as though things were unavoidable. yes if this or that happened, maybe mu deok wouldn't have run wild, maybe she wouldn't have killed jang uk, but the ending was something that could not have changed because it made sense with the characters' actions.

now onto season two. master lee has made it clear that jang uk and cho yeong's love story will never be able to have a happy ending because of so called "unavoidable circumstances" and rules put in place. jang uk definitely has the power to save cho yeong, and would do it in a heartbeat no matter the cost. he is not someone concerned with the fate of the world, holding a position of power, or in general ethics pertaining to how a mage should act (he is a foil to seo yul in that respect, but that's for another post). so it becomes a weak obstable for jang uk to struggle with. if the season ends with cho yeong dying in jin bu yeon's body and jang uk being left alone again, it'll be a weak tragedy not meant to touch the viewers, but anger them because of how nonsensical it would be. the hong sisters would essentially just be writing trauma porn.

not to mention it would be a complete disservice to cho yeong/naksu's character for her to die again and again for what? for shock value? a form of punishment because she isn't a good person? or is it just to make jang uk's character suffer because his pain is all that matters to the writers? cho yeong was someone who was manipulated practically her entire life, and in every identity she's lived in, the world has been against her for so long, yet this will be disregarded. aos has so many female characters with so much potential that is just wasted in favor of the men in the story. this is like fucking jujutsu kaisen all over again

#everything they are doing now is just to 'make up' a tragedy #if cho yeong or jang uk die / get an 'unhappy' ending- its not going to be because that was sensible course for the story #it'll just be for shock value istg

Seo Yul forgot how the love of his life looked like. Like can we not??? He's seen her adult self before. Why tf would he forget of all people?

It makes sense if the rest don't remember but Naksu meant something to Seo Yul, are you fucking around??
