Hi! I finished reading your 1818 fic today and i jusr wanted to drop by to thank you for the amazing work! It had me hooked from beginning to end, it was beautifully narrated and it left me craving not only more staticradio, but also more interactions between Vox and the Hazbin residents and Alastor and the Vees. The characterization was ON POINT for everyone, and those two final chapters were a delight from beginning to end, they left me craving to reread them again and again. Alastor's perspective in the last chapter especially left me shocked. I was so sad when I saw he actually loved his friendship with Vox genuinely, before Vox became too insecure and obsessive. It felt like a tragedy, reading about Alastor feeling at home for the first time in decades, knowing how his relationship with Vox would end... Anyways, again, thank you for the amazing work!! 🥰🥰

Wait so in tue end of 1818 Alastor fell in love with Vox since his true feelings came out?

no, that's not what happened.

Alastor has a very specific view of love that was born thru his relationship with his mother. He experienced something similar with Betty and then an elevated version of that later on with Vox.

he then felt this way with Vox

Meaning that Alastor had already experienced love with Vox before, his type of love, the one he believes to be true love.

However, Alastor is aroace, something he doesn't even know himself. So his idea of love and relationships is not what is considered the norm. So Vox didn't know that back then he already owned Alastor’s heart, instead he thought he was too little and to insignificant for someone like Alastor to ever consider dating him.

This led Vox to become greedy, obsessive and power hungry and in doing so he actually ruined what he already had with alastor which caused Alastor to pull back and then eventually run away from him.

Vox scared Alastor away and broke the last bit of a relationship that they had.

When Vox let Alastor be free, Alastor was happy cuz it meant that the Vox he knew was still there and that's the Vox that showed him love in hell.

Alastor’s love is a home and that's what he gave Vox and what Vox had been chasing after this whole time after losing it.

ooooogh the ending to 1818 was fantastic, I'm ecstatic Alastor didn't die and his shadow smiling like that at Vox at the end was so cute (also I'm so mad that anna is in heaven. That bitch certainly doesn't deserve it lol) Your writing always goes hard 😭

At first I wanted Alastor to get his revenge but then I remembered how unjust and skewed heaven was and so I decided to go with this route.

It showedcase that alastor picking revenge and hatred over anything else was truly what landed him in hell. Much like Vox’s obsession and insecurity was what truly destroyed his relationship with Alastor

Alastor lost his body to the angels but due to his unique constitution he is able to remake it as many times as he wants as long as his soul is still intact.

The issue was that Vox had his soul locked in an angelic box which restrained Alastor’s soul/shadow/powers.

Alastor having his body destroyed meant that Vox wasn't going to be able to see him again, touch him or even talk to him. He knew alastor wasn't dead, he knew he could bring him back but he also knew that in order to do so then he has to set Alastor’s soul free.

The reason why Vox is breaking down is because in order to get Alastor back he needs to let go. He needs to let go of the motion that he can own him and he can keep him restrained under him cuz one way or another Alastor will find a way to free himself cuz that's what he wishes for the most and what Vox is doing is only restraining him and making their relationship worse.

Vox destroyed their relationship the second he allowed his inferiority complex to win over what made him dear to Alastor and it is that inferiority complex that makes him believe that the only way he can be with him is if he owns Alastor.

In the end Vox makes the choice to let go because he wants Alastor back even if it means he won't have control over him.

Alastor’s soul smiles at Vox for making the right choice and once Vox is able to let go of his obsession, he is able to smile with Alastor and be happy that he's free again.

Alastor took a risky gamble hoping that the true feelings that Vox had for him that weren't eaten away by his obsession were still there cuz those feelings were something Alastor actually cherished and considered true love. Once Vox showed him those feelings were still there, he was truly happy.
