I think chapter 2 proved to me that JK is extremely malleable and has no strong convictions. When people say JK won't do something or the other because of his principles, I can't take it seriously at all.

When he was in BTS he never spoke for or against anything. I can't think of a single opinion he's given on the music they've done. Stays mum during BTS' serious discussions or fights. I doubt you'd see him telling Bang PD his melody for DNA is trash like Jimin. We've seen Yoongi, Jin, RM and Tae talk about the offers they've received to take the easy way out. We've seen members speak out obliquely about things like queerness by wearing LGBTQIA+ items or talking about queer media or making songs with those themes. BTS' music has frequently talked about mental struggles or chafing under authority and other mature topics. I can't think that a group that made Spring Day was only thinking about success.

But nothing much from JK individually. Some of it can be excused as him being the maknae and deferring to the others but when does respect mean never speaking on anything? Even JK's solo music within BTS has only ever touched on 'safe' themes like love, ARMY and growing up. No point looking for a Lie or Stigma from him. And his latest album is about love and loss and f*cking and inspite of having some of the most shallow songs, he's still adamant about it having no relation to him or his life. His chapter 2 solo promotion also clearly shows he never cared about how he gained success either.

The most rebellious thing he's done are his tattoos which is outside the mainstream in Korea. One could argue Jimin is the first member to get them, but JK's is a lot more visible. He'll state that he can do whatever he wants on his lives since he's so big time. But again all these things are centered on him. What he wants to do. I wonder if he has a single thought about anything beyond his own self.

So this is the guy who'll have the conviction of spirit to reject a military exemption? He seems to be a self centered person who has no stand on anything. He'll even change his words depending on how ARMYs will react which is why his interviews have no cohesion if you look at them together. Just a few weeks back, he was so obviously irritated that V and Jimin were coming to see him during his live but while rejecting them he says well it's not good to say that - ok fine come. That's his personality in a nutshell - he's a total fake or maybe I should say people pleaser to be nice. I'm not saying he's some evil person - he seems funny and probably has a chill personality and is great to hang out with - but I'm just saying I've not see any evidence that JK stands for anything or anyone beyond himself.

So in my opinion if he had the opportunity, he would take that exemption so quick while saying the prettiest words about how 2025 is still his dream.

Since I'm always following Jimin content, a certain amount of content with the other members is expected. This is a personal thing but I can't stand yoonmin shippers. We have delusional jikookers, soppy vminers, rare jihopers and thirsty minimonis but out of every ship, yoonminers literally drive me crazy.
