Why would I be embarrassed for having interests I enjoy? My guess is that you’re really, really young. And that maybe you don’t actually have solid relationships with adults who have lives outside of parenting or work. But I hope for you that when you’re my age you have hobbies that bring you happiness. And that by that point you realize that trying to shame someone for being an adult only makes you look too immature to be in adult spaces, which Tumblr is.

When I was 20, I loved music, making art, writing and reading good stories, fashion, talking about popular culture, making friends, going to concerts… You’d be surprised how little changes when you’re my age. I just have way more money and time to enjoy those things now. I’m only 55. I’m not dead. I’m also not a “granny”, but even if I was, I’d probably still like all of those things.

Ageism isn’t cute, love. And I sure don’t ever see people telling men they shouldn’t go to football games or have their little “fantasy football leagues” or wear their favorite player’s merch. For every comment you guys like to say is misogynistic (but isn’t), this is one that really reeks of it.

Hi there, trustworthy Umbrella Academy ficwriter! Are you aware of any, like, resources for ficwriters to ask each other questions to clarify things in the series, or an archive of show transcripts somewhere, or like someone has managed to sketch out a map of the UA manor, or other things like that? At the moment I'm looking for transcripts most, but I realized I know exactly where to turn for these sorts of questions on my main fandom so now I'm lost. Thank you!

So, yes and and no.

I'm part of @circumstellars Elliott's House discord and there's lots of fic writers in there, and lots of questions and answers happen all the time in the fic-dedicated channels, both for canon clarifications/questions and workshopping fics. I'm not as active in there as I used to be, but it's got good people and I've enjoyed hanging out there.

As to those specific resources, transcripts and floorplans and whatnot.... not that I know of? Maybe someone else has a helpful link they can share, but I personally don't know of one. There's a good internal timeline of the series that I've referenced before but never save so it's always a Thing to go find it again. When I want to check back on dialogue, I go rewatch the scene and make my own quick transcript of the bit I need. Which I enjoy doing but it is not efficient.

Seems like a thing we should have! It would be so useful! In the meantime, I guess we have shouting here into the tumblr void and seeing which TUA people we happen to catch.

Btw you can be intensely critical of the Democratic party and recognize that it is full of aged out of touch moderates who are refusing to meet the urgency of the moment,

and also recognize that voting for Democrats is extremely important because it allows things like the confirmation of Justices and prevents the literal fascist party from gaining more power and that harm reduction is an important end in itself
