                        NOW THIS WAS UNEXPECTED.  a few moments exist wherein she is uncertain about HIS ACTIONS.  not afraid, no,  but because this is is hardly a COMMON OCCURRENCE. there are certainly whispers, rumors   ;    all of which are generally SHUT DOWN, if she’s in earshot.  needless to say, the prospect of kylo ren removing his mask is, to many, filed under a potential nightmare scenario   (  COULD ANYONE WALK AWAY ALIVE AFTER THAT  ?   ).  her calm comes naturally, AMPLIFIED only by the thorough training provided early on.  though a slow-burning surprise does warm her veins, however slightly.   what could it hurt ? 

                           ❜   alright,     ❜   the data-padd is set to idle,  and placed on THE COMPACT, metallic table.  even if her to-do list consisted of more than a DOZEN THINGS, it would be rather rude to keep peeking at it, even out of PURE HABIT.  easily slipping out of her shoes             heels pinching into her flesh while CROSS-LEGGED would be rather irksome                they are pushed to the side, before she settles down on the floor.    ❜    by all means   :   teach me.    ❜ 

❝  ———  YES  ———  ❞  kylo  ren  hums  with  quickened  humility.  (  commander  elena  could  make  as  she  would  with  privy  information.  )   feminen,  basic  &  calculated  eyes  define  the  crystalline  hologlass  of  a  sith’s  mask,  to  pierce  beneath  beastly  appearances.  the  dusty  film  glitters,  &  a  knightly  head  tilts  low  in  equal  acquisition.  enraptured  in  her  curiosity?  (  was  it  so  difficult  to  believe  in  his  humanity?  that  below  a  political  agenda,  he  was  still  frightfully  flesh  &  bone?  )

then  again,  even  the  nastiest  of  creatures  pray  they  were  cleaner.  kylo  cants  his  chin  towards  the  white,  luminescent  roofing  of  the enclosure  they  share.  pressurized  air  hisses  when  reeling  palms  dismantle  the  belt  of  his  helmet.  sweat - slick  hair  dangles  down  the  freckled  nape  of  his  vertebrae.  ❝  ———  i can show you what i mean.   ❞

                                  PERHAPS IT IS MERELY A  prerequisite to becoming a darkside user   ;   or, perhaps, he is simply inherently quiet  (   A PREDATORY TRAIT?  ), despite his size. though there is music in her earbuds, it just enough to help keep a continual rhythm without entirely DROWNING OUT everything else. it mingles within the rapid beating of her heart, the rush of blood in her veins. full advantage is taken of an otherwise QUIET NIGHT, with the training area devoid of anyone else.  or, so was the case, previously. 

                               she hears him OVER THE SOUND of soft music, and it startles her enough to come to a sudden stop on the treadmill. it takes a moment to REGISTER what he says, opting to catch her breath before fully zeroing in on them.  even then, she’s breathing hard, and messily RE-ARRANGES her hair into a bun that, while still messy, wasn’t quite to the point of FALLING UNDONE anymore.    ❛                 WHAT ?   ❜

                          more than a little surprised, her gaze FLICKERS DOWN, just to ease the fear that maybe, in her SLEEP-DEPRIVED state, she was naked.  but, no, that wasn’t it.  so now, she’s left LOOKING AT HIM more than a little incredulously.    ❛     please tell me you’re joking.     ❜  and it is almost deadpan response, if it weren’t for the fact that she was ENTIRELY TOO AMUSED at the fact that he was                          surprised ?   something else ?  hard to tell, honestly.

                           IT IS BY A MIRACLE ALONE that she manages not to roll her eyes too hard. but, that doesn’t keep her from STARING at him like he’s an over-eager child.  but, perhaps that is entirely appropriate, in a way, given what she’s seen of him thus far. ENTIRELY CAPABLE in battle, certainly.  impressive even.  but there’s something a bit more whimsical and relaxed about him otherwise.
