First Date Jitters

Joel Pimentel x Reader

You shifted nervously in your seat, your eyes glued down to the pattern that was skewed across the table that you were currently sitting at. It wasn’t that you were nervous to be near the person sitting across from you, but that you felt uncomfortable at the thought of him watching you as you ate. You were eating pizza, an internationally favored dish, the strings of cheese stretching as you bit into your slice of goodness made the greasy food even more enticing.

You looked up at Joel once you had swallowed down all of the food that was in your mouth. “ This is so good.” you exclaimed cheerily, throwing him a light smile so that you could let him know that you were enjoying your time out with him. “Yeah, this is my favorite place to come for pizza.” You reached over for another slice of cheesy goodness and then repeated your awkward process of looking down towards the table as you ate, so that you could somehow feel less weird with your dates eyes as he scanning your movements while you chomped down.

“(Y/N), why do you keep doing that?’ Joel called you out, chuckling. “Doing what?” you asked, knowing very well what he was referring to “why do you keep looking down when you eat? Are you nervous?” You looked up to see his lips stretched out into a bright grin. the only thoughts that you were left with in that moment was how good he looked when he smiled “It just feels weird to have somebody watch me intently while trying to get down my food.” Joel cackled softly at your explanation “ If you want, we could go across the street to the arcade.” he suggested with a promising look etched onto his face with one of his eyebrows raised as he awaited your response. You nodded your head yes giving him a large smile which in turned caused Joel to jump out of his seat in glee and extend one of his hands for you to grab. You accepted his hand gladly, jumping out of your seat a little to fast then following behind him to the next destination.

When Joel asked you out, you were ecstatic. The both of you had just started out the beginnings of a friendship, but you had already formed an attraction towards him before hand. So when he dropped the big question you didn’t know how to react nor did you know how to feel, in the first few moments you went through a series of emotions while Joel just stood there awaiting your response and fidgeting nervously. But when you said yes, he broke out into the biggest and best of smiles and that is how you ended up in your spot now.

Playing a two player motorcycle racing game competing against Joel intensely. You were behind Joel by two other players and you needed to catch up to him and fast because Joel was nearing the finish line on the last lap for the game. You glanced over at your curly haired date with a mischievous spark lighting up your eyes. “I’m beating you (Y/n), your gonna owe me ta- HEY!!” Joel exclaimed giggling excitedly right up to the moment that you extended your arm and tried to push Joel with as much force as you could in your position in hopes that he would lose focus. Although you did give him a Nudge, it was not hard enough because his player still crossed the finish line first and you came into second place

The two of you walked around looking for a new station to go to with Joel cackling loudly beside you “How did you manage to cheat and still lose?” He asked taking a break from laughing “oh hush” you shushed him holding your pointer finger up to your mouth before whispering “We shall not speak of that.” The rest of your time spent together went by in a breeze with the both of you competing against each other in different games where you proudly won some of these one on one battles against Joel yet he still managed to beat you by a long shot with him being in the lead of winning against you in five more games than the both of you played.

When it got late enough you and Joel went to one of the ticket counting machines and inserted the armfuls that each of you had won. 4,445,100 was what lit up on the screen of the machine before it ejected a card that held all of your points. You had enough points to get one of the gaming systems and a small plushy. But instead you chose to get as many plushies as you could get out of the deal alongside some candy, where as you had to persistently insist on Joel picking out a prize before he finally picked his choice of poison and the both of you got ready to leave the brightly lit arcade that was filled with loud gaming noises and chatter from the variety of people that surrounded the place.

“Well that was fun.” you sighed out when the both of you were in the car. Joel turned his head to face you and looked your way with those dreamy eyes before nodding his head in agreement “Yeah, it was?”

You got home around ten o’clock at night which wasn’t too bad from all the time that you spent inside of the arcade. Joel ended up having to help you carry your plushies into you house because all of them could not fit in your arms and to say that you were struggling at first would be a BIG understatement. But thankfully you and Joel made it to your front door successfully without any stuffed animals being dropped or harmed in the process.

“we should do something like this again.” Joel said in a low tone of voice flashing you a bright and toothy grin “Yes” you bobbed your head up and down eagerly returning his smile “Next time with nachos.” the both of you broke out into a fit of giggles “you mean tacos.” the curly haired boy corrected you “Yeah that.”

you ended the night off with a nice and warm hug that lasted a few seconds longer than a regular hug should have lasted with only the biggest of hopes for receiving a kiss next time.

Late Night Confessions

Erick Brian Colon x Reader

Genre: fluff, just a smudge of angst

Erick Brian Colon, the guy with deep sea green eyes which of whom almost every girl in school was crushing on had eventually crept his way into your head and invaded your daily thoughts. At first you had only seen him as a regular acquaintance whom had soon became your friend due to the both of you being part of the same crowd. But lately those pretty eyes have been the source of your distractions.

At this moment in time you were at lunch with your friends, halfway lost in your thoughts, but also halfway listening to the conversation at hand. “(y/n)!!! Are you in?” Tori asked, causing you to jump out of your daze from the abrupt question that was being thrown your way. You glanced at all 4 of your friends letting out a big “Huh”not knowing what to say as each pair of their eyes were locked on you. Fortunately at that point Erick, Yoandri, and Joel joined your table. You looked down flustered as your crush perched himself in the seat directly in front of you. “Guys what do you think about having a bonfire?” Kelsi’s boisterous voice rang down the table in excitement. “That sounds cool, but when?”Joel spoke. You looked up from the table and immediately made eye contact with Erick, he returned you gaze with a wide smile. In this small little moment that was being exchanged between you and him, you averted your eyes quickly, not knowing what else to do as he directed his stare towards you.

“Would this weekend be fine? it’s the last week of school so it should be good.” said Kelsi in a questioning tone. Everyone at the table hummed and nodded their heads in agreement. Suddenly Tori gave a loud gasp which in turn caused everybody to stop what they were doing and direct their attention towards her. She gave everyone at the table a toothy grin “ Oh and then we can have a sleep over at my at my house.”

“Are we included in this?” Yoandri popped up referring to him and the rest of the guys. “Of course you guys are.” Tori smiled “ Everybody has to pitch in, snack wise unless someone would like to volunteer.” you quipped, finally speaking up on the subject. “I’m fine with that” Erick said as his eyes locked on you once more “ (Y/n), how about we make a list of things to get? We can go get the things tomorrow after school” He continued, you smiled softly and nodded your head in agreement.

The loud ringing of the bell made you jump out of your seat in a hurriedly manner, trying your best to rush to your next class in order to aid in your avoidance of the green eyed boy.You were beginning to make things awkward between the two of you but it was only because you didn’t know how to react to the crush that you had formed on him. At first you played it cool but eventually your feelings for Erick began to seep through from beneath the surface and reveal themselves in little ways that you weren’t even sure that anyone could tell, so you put your plan to not reveal the liking that you took towards him into motion which led to you distancing your self from him.

Lots of girls fell for Erick because of his pretty eyes but not only that, he also had a great personality. He was goof, playful, kind, caring, and smart which was much why you had fallen for him yourself. His smile was just gorgeous; you could stare at it for days, his hair was just gorgeous and you just wanted so desperately to run your fingers through silky dark strands.

The moment that you realized that you liked him much more than a friend was sudden. It was a hot summer day and you were in the pool that was located in your friend, Justin’s backyard. The two of you were still playing around in the pool, whereas the lot of your crew had retired inside of the house, feeling as though they had, had enough of their outdoor activities. You and Erick were splashing each other with water and throwing one another into the cool water while letting out loud fits of laughter and once things calmed down between the both of you, you began to talk about random things in hushed tone, sitting still in the water. When you stepped out of the small body of water that was indented into the concrete, was when you realized that you forgot to bring a towel of your own. Shrugging it off, you began to walk towards the back entrance of the house when you felt a small weight that was sort of warm being placed down onto your shoulders. You looked back to see Erick standing directly over you and you make direct eye contact with him while in this position. He smiles at you and your just so captivated by his eyes that you just stop and stare at him in awe. The thoughts of how nice he looked, how much of a great person he was, and how you wanted him to be yours all hit you in that moment. So you looked down abruptly slipping out a quiet “thank you” before walking away.

The next day came and to say that you were kind of nervous was an understatement. Thoughts of skipping out on school so that you could steer clear from the future interaction that you would have to share with Erick plagued your mind at first but you decided against it knowing that you wouldn’t be able to avoid him forever, so it would be pointless to miss a full day of school for such a silly reason.

This wonderful school day was spent with you walking through the halls with caution trying your best to be as inconspicuous as possible, ducking and dodging your green eyed friend. But then the most dreaded time of day came; your last period of the day in which you shared with Erick, although he did sit all the way on the other side of the class, you sat in the middle edge next to the window. The last five minutes to the bell had you on edge, so you sat there in your seat fidgety and all instead of paying attention to the topic at hand that your teacher was explaining at the time. A small whoosh of air hit your hands as a few pieces of paper landed on your desk, your school work that you had done earlier on in the year was being returned to you. BRNGG!!!!!!!!!! the bell rung loudly.

“Have a nice day guys, see you tomorrow” your teacher called out as your classmates flooded towards the door and out of the room.You stood up to pack your things in your bag and Erick made his way over to you, standing beside your desk waiting for you to finish . As soon as you perched your bag on your back he looked at you with those gorgeous eyes and asked “Are you ready?”. When you nodded the pair of you walked to his car. There was no chance at escaping now.

The ride to the store was smothered in silence only the a soft hum of the music that was playing on the radio could be heard but once your handsome friend had successfully found a good parking spot, he turned towards you and gave you a pointed look, the words of a question he was about to ask on the tip of his tongue “you’ve been avoiding me. Why?” His soft voice hit your ears and your breath got caught in your throat as you scrambled to think of something that you could say to him. His piercing green eyes never left you as you struggled to find your words “Erick I haven’t been avoiding you.” Was the only thing you could think of to say. You sighed and finally turned to meet his eyes. He smiled “ (y/n), I saw you run the other way when you saw me in the hall today.” You averted your eyes from him were you really that obvious. “I realized that I had forgotten something, so I turned back to retrieve it” you looked back at the guy and flashed your teeth at him in a goofy smile. Erick chuckled at your antics and exited the vehicle.

You quietly walked side by side with the boy who had captured your heart as the both of you made your way to the snack isle. Erick was pushing the buggy. He grabbed a handful of marshmallows in different sizes and colors. “ do we really need that many?” You asked looking at him funny. Smiling, he stuck out his tongue and held two different bags of marshmallows in both of his hands and held them up to his head “ We can’t have a bonfire without marshmallows.” He said in a duh tone which caused you to laugh “ yeah i know but that’s a lot” you said pointing to the half full buggy.

“ oh, girlfriend” Erick started in a goofy tone, walking towards you “there’s no such thing as too many marshmallows” he continued and placed his arm over your shoulder. You cheeks began to heat up at the close proximity. Moving out of his slight embrace, you walked away “ your right” you said lowly before running away with the buggy giggling loudly as he chased you around the store. (Y/n), come back!” Erick called out and you yelled back a “NEVER!!!”

You walked on the small and desolate beach your friends were working on starting up the fire while you basked in the ocean breeze, padding across the warm sand. There was still light outside but it would soon began to get dark based off of the time. It was 5 o’clock in the evening. You turned around to face your crew when you heard their cheers of joy, your smile immediately dropped when you saw Emily jump into Erick’s arms. You tried to think of it in a different context maybe it was just in the moment, your friend group was touchy anyway. Brushing your thoughts away, you walked over to where everyone was gathered by the fire.

You didn't come into direct contact with Erick at all that night during your festivities of making smores playing truth or dare, and having a group a discussion on random topics. You and him would make eye contact with each other from time to time but neither one of you bothered to walk up to or say anything to the other. Erick was spending most of his time with Emily, your tall blue eyed friend. Even the last hour or so at the beach when the music was booming through the speakers the pair danced together where as you sat down and watched as everybody enjoyed themselves. You were jealous to say the least but you didn’t have the right to be mad, you weren't dating him, so you sat there sullen and all trying to hide your emotions at the moment in order to prevent someone from asking you what was wrong.

Once all 7 of you had made your way to Tori’s house and claimed the spots in the living room in which you would be sleeping for the night, it was around 2 in the morning, The voices coming from the TV could still be heard over the soft chatter of the short conversations that were being held. You were one of the lucky ones that had gotten a spot on one of the wide reclining couches with Erick perching himself in the section of the couch besides you. It didn’t take long for everyone to drift off into a peaceful slumber with you also succumbing to the heavy weight of your eyelids as they pulled you into a peaceful sleep.

you woke up not long after you had fallen asleep, it was still dark outside so it must've been very early in the morning .You looked over to the spot beside you to find that it was empty. Where did he go? Immediately you scanned the room alarmed until you saw her, Emily was fast asleep on the floor and Erick was the only person that was missing. You let out a big sigh of relief as you got up to search for him. You checked the kitchen first and once you discovered that he was not there, you checked every where else around the house before stepping out onto the back patio. There was where you found him, sitting down in one of the chairs, gazing up at the night sky. You were about to turn around to go back inside but he called you out “(y/n), what are you doing?” Erick asked keeping his eyes trained on you. Sitting down in the chair next to his you asked “ What are you doing up so late or early I don’t know?” He looked back up towards the sky “I could ask you the same thing” he whispered. It was silent for just a moment, the both of you looking up at the stars. “(y/n), do you not like me or something.” Erick raspy voice started causing you to focus your attention on him “it just seems as though you have been avoiding me and you don't speak to me often.” you struggled to find words to answer this question. How could you let him know that you didn’t have a problem with him without giving away your crush?

“Erick” you uttered his name, still trying to figure out the right words to say

“look (y/n) I really like you.” was he referring to as a friend or as something more? You sucked in a breathe “The feeling is mutual”

“No (y/n) I like you alot, I like how smart you are, I like how caring you can be, I also like how you refuse to let anybody walk over you.” he turned to look at you his eyes watching you intently, you gasped at the things that were coming out of his mouth, you didn’t know how to react “You’re goofy, your helpful, you’re extremely clumsy at times and you are everything that I ever wanted.” He stood up to stand in front of you and you slowly began to rise from your seat as well, you hadn’t uttered a single word during his confession. Finally you smiled processing all of the information that he just spilled to you “That was so cheesy” you giggled, hitting his shoulder. He laughed with you before leaning in and capturing your lips in soft kiss, you closed your eyes as his lips moved against yours and the butterflies in your stomach were going crazy at this point. you pulled back from the kiss looking straight into Erick's deep sea green eyes

“I only avoided you because I liked you.” you said suddenly before looking down at your feet “And why would you do that?” he asked placing his finger under you chin and lifting your head up so that you were looking at him “ I don’t know. I just didn’t know how to handle my feelings for you.” He gave a small chuckle “Well (y/n), will you give me the joy to be able to call you mines?” your cheeks began to hurt from how hard you were smiling, this whole time Erick had liked you back and you both didn’t know how to spill the information to each other “yes, Erick I will do you the honors with pleasure.” you said in the best British accent that you could muster. You both fell into a fit of laughter before Erick spoke up again “We should really go back to sleep.”

So that's what you did, the both of you slipping back into the living room as quietly as you could and returning to your spots with gigantic smiles and feelings of giddiness.

I hope you guys enjoyed this story I was kind of lost on how I wanted to structure the confession but it just came out like this. But thanks for reading
