So, I finally had the time (and courage) to post the first chapter of my second long fic.

Synopsis: "But he just couldn't bring himself to kill his little brother." Obito had said to Sasuke.

What if, when the time came, Sasuke, too, couldn’t bring himself to kill his brother? What if he chose to save Itachi's life instead of letting him die at his hands? How would their lives be different?

Theirs is the story of endurance and forgiveness and unfathomable love. How would Itachi function in a world he didn't die and was forced to see the brother who loved him, despite everything. Could he ever forgive himself? Was healing possible for someone like him? Could Itachi and Sasuke move past their past and start their life anew?

No warnings at the moment. I will add them when the chapters are posted.

Follow-up to my previous poll (mostly because i forgot to extend the poll but also because the results have implications). In this case, we are assuming there are alternate timelines (no time paradoxes etc.). There is an adult!Sasuke from one timeline meeting a kid!Itachi from another timeline (naturally, a kid!Sasuke exists as well in the kid timeline).

Elaboration on "doomed timeline":

We are assuming that Sasuke is an integral part of Naruto history. Without Sasuke, it would be 100% impossible to beat Madara or seal Kaguya later down the timeline.
