Which MTG Plane would you enjoy living in the most and which one would you like to briefly visit as a vacation?
i spent a long time debating about this, working out the pros and cons of several planes i enjoy. Eldraine is my favorite, but i don't really have Main Character energy, so i would probably just be like. a sheep farmer? and that seems like a lot of work.
Thunder Junction reminded me of the stunning natural beauty of the American southwest, but I can't stand being too warm, so that's a no go.
If I lived on Innistrad, my debilitating level of anxiety would actually be justified and make me seem sensible instead of incredibly neurotic, but also Innistrad seems creepy and wet.
Ravnica would be good, because, quite frankly, I should be out in the wildnerness as little as possible. And I'm already Catholic and love being told what to do, so I could fit in my favorite guild (Orzhov). But I'm also a communist, so that would be difficult, and, per the OTJ epilogue, they don't have iced coffee on Ravnica. While I don't personally drink coffee, this makes me concerned about their cold beverage selection.
I was thinking long and hard about Kaldheim (I like to be cold, I already know nålebindng so I could make myself useful, it's based on Norse mythology so there's probably some Maine Coons around and those are my favorite cat breed) when i remembered the answer for which plane I should live on is SO OBVIOUS!!!
New Capenna!!! I could live in fantasy Chicago, AND theres catboys? i ALREADY HAD this picture saved on my phone:

as for vacationing? Kamigawa would be pretty cool. or Bloomburrow! i feel like bloomburrow isnt gonna have any kitties in it, which is a shame, because i was always more of a Warrior cats kid than a Redwall kid. But I think it would be fun to be a cute little forest animal for a bit. and then the second it rains even one time i could go home to New Capenna and have like. idk a deep dish pizza. and also im a cat.

I know they say amnesia is a bad trait in d&d/ttrpgs but in my most recent campaign I made a character who was voluntarily memory wiped for magical powers and gave my dm permission to make up a backstry that I don't even know. So we show up in this town and get intercepted by a bunch of gangsters who were like "heyyy there's our lawyer with no conscience!" and my character is like "well i still dont have a conscience, how hard can law be?" and that's how we started the ace attorney plotline

I hate the trope of "I refuse to hit women!! [Gets decked]" cause it's boring but I do like the trope of someone in an RPG going "hey I don't wanna hit a kid that's kinda fucked up" and the kid just obliterates them

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

It's so funny when horror stories describe like demonic possession or alien mind control "you're stuck inside your body and watching it do things you have no control over, and you can't even scream about it!" as if it's some outlandishly impossible nightmare scenario, instead of just executive dysfunction on a bad day.
I mean sure, executive dysfunction doesn't make you commit murder or open a gate to the netherworld, but when they focus on the horror of "not being able to make your body do what you intend to do", instead of "your body is committing actions you find abhorrent, while under the influence of a malicious external entity", that's when you go from "escapist horror" to "mundane horror". Might as well write a horror novel about misplacing important documents right when you need to file your taxes, or estranged family members dying before you can try to mend the relationship, at that point.
