The alarm blaring out in the stillness of the night is what woke Him up. People panicking and swarming the streets to find the nearest Shelter caught His attention. The lights in the trees saw Him and they froze. More voices, more shouting as other lights appeared. He regarded them curiously, confused by the sight.
Thunder and a stinging Pain flared in His shoulder. He shouted - more like a roar - before He ran. He ran - further and further and further - the Pain in His shoulder growing more intense. Finally the pain subsided - whatever had caused it had fallen out. He breathed heavily - His exhales shaky - shakier than this inhales.
What was it? The lights - the noise - the Pain - the people. What was any of it?
His thoughts were racing - coming in faster and faster - as He sat against a tree. His weight shook it slightly. The pounding of His heart - the roaring of his pulse in His ears - was all he could hear. The Wind blew cold - chilling through His fur. He fell asleep - wrapping His wings around Himself and curling into a ball.
In the morning He heard a voice. He was scared - the last voices had Thunder - the Thunder hurts Him. He looked around - pulling His head from the safety of His wings. He didn’t see anything - how could He - the trees were too thick and too many.
But the voice was soft - different - kind. He stilled his breathing and listened - waiting for the voice to make itself known again.
The fact that Tesla autopilots abort self driving 1 second before a crash so the company can state “self driving wasn’t active during the collision” should be grounds to dismantle the entire company.
Like, seriously, if you’re making 4000 pound death machines, and you program this shit to work on a technicality? Your company should be dismantled. Gone. No recourse. Just terrible shit dude
