I mean there's different shades of Blue as well. If you want to lean more towards a lighter or darker blue that could probably achieve the same effect.

True, true.

The intent has always been that each shade of blue that's utilized is used exactly twice. So you have regular blue for her top and boots, a lighter blue for her gloves and boot cuffs, and a darker blue for her bandana and headscarf.

Combine that with brown also being used exactly twice, for the tights and glove cuffs, there's a subtle balance to it all, despite the heavy prominence of blue. And with the brown in question being a warmer shade, it contrasts the rest of her otherwise cooler colours, but doesn't compromise the overall softness intended.

I'm no expert in Color but i think Blue still remain the best option imo.

I really like teal but as Spinningbuster said, it's relatively closer to green.

I can see Teal being used as colour for an alternate outfit like the girls has in Sonic Channel tho

I considered the option because teal maintains an element of blue, meaning it could still fit the nature-themed colour motif, and since it's not fully green, it might not fade in too much with Trudy's fur depending on the shade that's used.

Like I said though, I'm not bothered about it either way, so since the general verdict seems to be that blue works just fine, I guess it'll stay that way.

I'm no expert on color theory but, from a purely personal perspective, I'd say that blue is the way to go, as it feels to me like a bolder color and one that better contrasts her overall green color scheme, thus balancing out the overall design. Think about how Sonic himself has a mostly blue coloration that is balanced out by his skin colored patch on his stomach, his muzzle and his arms

Yeah, I did take that into consideration, hence why I hesitated on it. Well, that and because I still like the blue and don't have any real issues with it. And of course, Amy has been wearing red since SA1, yet no one complains when she's in frame with the red-furred Knuckles.

I can see what you mean about the gloves, but funnily enough, when I initially came up with her design, them being fully brown didn't look right when I pictured it in my head, which is why I settled for making the cuffs brown instead, with the rest of them being a lighter shade of blue than the rest of her blue clothing. Despite her not being royalty (even though she lives in a castle lol), I was going for a Cinderella-esque vibe with them.

Y/N: Teal for Trudy instead of blue?

I've been thinking about this again, so I'm curious for a second opinion: for a while now, I've been contemplating a soft alteration of Trudy's clothing colour scheme.

As you all know, blue is a prominent part of her attire, due to the nature theming of her colours:

However, a few years ago, a now-deactivated user gave her a redesign, which made use of teal instead (the one on the right was by @pagonmoon):

At the time, I appreciated the alternate design as an interesting what-if, but I remained satisfied with Trudy as she is, hence why I've barely changed her design since I created her... However, I've occasionally argued with myself on whether teal - albeit perhaps a brighter shade than presented here - would compliment her canon attire more effectively than regular blue, since on top of suiting the aforementioned nature theming just as well, it could also add an extra distinction to her overall colour scheme when placed next to certain other characters... namely Sonic himself, the guy who is known for being predominantly blue lol.

It's not a major deal that would affect anything to do with Stellar either way, since her design would remain pretty much the same otherwise, including the warmer shade of brown for her tights. But what do you guys think? Do you reckon teal would fit her regular clothing better than blue?

5. Black Dragon - As far as giant monster final bosses in games starring Eggman go, this one does not intrude on Eggman's role in any notable way (it really is like whiplash coming right after Frontiers, which... we know what happened in that one), so well done Black Dragon, here's a gold star. Its design is like a dark spin on Trip's super form, so that checks out.

4. Biolizard - Despite my thoughts on SA2's story overall, which definitely includes the Last Story, I've grown on the Biolizard on its own isolated merits as time has went on. Its design is grotesque, but in a way that works rather than just being... well, a bad design for lack of a better term, and compliments its tragic story. It also has Supporting Me backing it up, which is a great theme.

3. Solaris - Like everything in '06, it wasn't used well, but I really dig its concept, and its designs are elegant, yet no less ominous. Too bad it got separated into Diet Pepsi Chaos and Overrated Hack Villain for most of the game, both of which are nowhere near as interesting.

2. Time Eater - The one Eggman successfully got under his thumb, so naturally it gets my stamp of approval. "But muh lack of backstory-" blah blah blah can't hear you, too busy gushing over Eggman piloting the time entity, with an awesome design at that. "But muh bad boss fight-" oh yeah, cause Perfect Dark Gaia was so much better.

Top 5 Sonic Final bosses? :)

This is counting "regular" final bosses as well, in the case of those that have a true final boss. Spoiler though: they're all Eggman. :P I swear this wasn't on purpose, it's just that the other villains who make up a final boss often tend to be underwhelming for one reason or another.

5. Nega-Wisp Armor - It may be a bit on the easy side, but since Colours marked the first 3D title where Eggman was the uncontested final boss from all angles, it holds a lot of significance to me as a result. That aside, it's also cool that Eggman gets to use the Wisps against you... even takes the announcer with him. >:|

4. Egg Diablo - I think I've become this boss fight's biggest stan at this point lol. I get why some parts might piss players off, but for the most part, I genuinely enjoy how challenging this one is. Its design provides a neat shogun spin on the Death Egg Robot template, it has a lot in common with the Great Eggman Robo (see below), and I love how Eggman segues into phase 2 by cockblocking your victory.

3. Egg Viper - One of the most famous examples here. Killer design, legendary meme, and an ending that always gets me hyped. I'm not a Michael Bay, but I love that explosion so much.

2. Egg Wizard - A very unique and underrated one. Thanks to the Jeweled Scepter, Eggman (and Nega, but fuck him) shows off a selection of unconventional magic-based attacks. The fight itself is quite fun too.

1. The Death Egg/Doomsday finale - I consider the endgame of S3&K to be one of the best in the series, largely because of how well it incorporates Eggman's absolute refusal to give up. There are gods who get Big Oof'd after one fight, meanwhile this man keeps going again and again. And all this after the rest of S3&K, which of course had many other moments where the doctor gave his 110%.

Honorable mentions: The original Death Egg Robot cause of how iconic it is, SA1 Egg Walker cause of the significance it has for Tails and Eggman's own demeanour in the cutscene leading up to it, Perfect Chaos for being probably the least shit Super Sonic boss in a 3D installment, the Egg Shrimp in Advance 2 for what it says about Eggman and Sonic's characters with how quick they are to kidnap and save a random woman respectively, Emerl in Battle cause of the emotions surrounding it, Egg Salamander in Rush cause ~wrapped in black, wrapped in black~, Alf-Layla-wa-Layla cause Sonic gets to beat the shit out of Erazor "Domestic Abuser" Djinn, the Mega Death Egg Robot in Forces cause of the genius of Eggman storing a second mech inside the first one, and finally - despite its, er, complications - the Black Dragon in Superstars, cause seeing Sonic's friends help him out during it is extremely appreciated by me after years of them standing around like cheerleaders whenever it's final boss time.
