"That's nice. They've known each other for some time, haven't they?" he mentioned in passing, but he could see the way Orlando spoke about Evangeline. Like she was a little sister to him. He could totally understand that relationship, considering he had a little sister of his own. "I figured that. It feels like some sort of honor to have her not totally hate me from the get go," Cyrus admitted with a chuckle. "She's almost... happy to see me sometimes. But maybe I'm just overestimating what her kindness means," he confessed with amusement.
"I suppose so." Orlando answered with a laugh of his own though he knew that Rory was aware of the boundaries. He was fairly certain he knew what ones he could push on and which ones he wasn't allowed to cross but he was never one hundred percent sure on that. "She does. That's one of the things I like about him the most." Because Evangeline deserved all the best types of people around her. "I'm glad she's taken to you though, not that I'm too surprised. She doesn't tend to let people in easily."

"Sounds like it's for the best that he treads a little more carefully then, no? Especially if he's got a habit of being rowdy," Cyrus replied with a light laugh, seeing that Orlando rather clearly didn't seem to mind the presence of the younger male. "That's good that she's got a good friend in him. Even if she can be a little prickly around the edges, she's actually been really sweet to me," he mentioned. It'd been nice to get a warm welcome from her every time he was around.
"It was but hilarious." Thankfully he wasn't the type to be easily offended and Rory had simply been looking out for Evangeline so Orlando wouldn't complain about that given he was glad that there was another person looking out for the girl. "No, he doesn't think that about me now. Maybe because he's worried I'll kick him out of my apartment if he starts being too rowdy?" Orlando was laughing though. "He comes over quite regularly because of Evangeline and he's a nice boy. He likes acting like a problem I think but he's harmless and he's good to Eva. That's all I could ask for." He answered with a shrug of his shoulders and a smile.

"That really is quite the misunderstanding," he chuckled when Orlando elaborated on the story. "But like you said, if you didn't know about how you and Evangeline are it's not a totally outlandish assumption to make," Cyrus nodded, still shaking his head at the ridiculousness of it all. Perhaps because he did actually have context that it was so easily silly to him– would he have considered the same things as Rory if he'd been in his shoes? He wasn't sure. "Does he still think that about you? Or have you two finally given him some clarity?" he wondered with a laugh.
A little smile drifted across Orlando's lips when Cyrus suddenly got so serious. He'd been joking of course, but it was strangely heart warming to see how seriously the other had taken it. The truth was, Orlando wouldn't have blinked at the thought of getting Cyrus whatever he wanted. He enjoyed spoiling people he cared about but he also knew that could have come off as trying to buy them and it was for that reason he attempted not to do it all the time. The others laugh at his words was met with one of Orlando's own and he nodded his head. "Oh I know. It was when he first met me and because of Evangeline. I'd offered to let her live with me for free and I suppose if you don't know our relationship as well as some, it would seem a little strange. I didn't help by not clearing things up either... I enjoyed playing into his imagination and winding him up. Thankfully Evangeline found the situation hilarious too when she heard."

That 'never' struck a deeper chord in Cyrus than expected. It had him thinking about what Elijah had said to him back at New Years. He was still unsure of how to navigate this though, trying to ignore that his palms were getting sweaty at the newly sparked thoughts. "Of course not," he chuckled softly on a more serious note. "You've spoiled me enough if you ask me." At the anecdote however, he couldn't help the surprise that spread across his features. It was a good job he wasn't drinking something because he probably would've choked on it. "Sorry? Well– that's one hell of a claim," he sputtered a laugh.
"Never." Orlando responded immediately with such sincerity that it was clear there was not even the slightest doubt in his mind. The truth was he'd keep the man around for longer if he could but he didn't want to put any more on Cyrus than he already had. "So what you're saying is I'm going to have to spoil you to keep you around?" Orlando joked. "It almost sounds like you and Rory have been conspiring. That kid called me a sugar daddy at one point." He admitted in amusement.

"I'm more relieved that you're not the one sick of me," he chuckled in response, considering it had been him who had been coming over to check on and care for the man when he'd been bedridden after his injury. "I'm surprised it took you this long to figure out that I'm actually incredibly superficial," Cyrus could barely get through before his grin betrayed him. "Sorry you had to find out this way."
"Well that's a relief to hear you admit that considering how much time we appear to have been spending together recently." Orlando admitted with a little laugh because he'd be questioning why that was if he didn't enjoy it. Though his eyebrows rose at the next comment and Orlando's grin grew. "So you're with me for what I can get you hm? I'll make a mental note of that. Though it's also useful to know that sweet treats are your weakness."

"No need to apologize," Cyrus quickly assured the man with a warm smile. "Of course not. I always have a good time with you," he confirmed happily. "But it's mainly the sweet treats that are enticing me of course. The company's alright I guess," he offered up a joke to lighten the mood further.
Orlando cast his mind back a little. "I probably did actually, yes. Sorry about that. " He spoke with a little laugh because he didn't really think about it these days, he simply included Cyrus in whatever he was planning. "I suppose it's a habit at this point and I didn't realise. I'm assuming you don't mind and want to join me?" He asked after a moment, feeling he owed the other man that much.

"It's really not ideal," he agreed with a laugh when he noticed the face that Cynthia had pulled. It wasn't the most comfortable mode of transport but much like she pointed out, it sure as hell saved a lot of time. "What do you want to drink?" Cyrus asked when he'd ordered them each a lot of halloumi fries. "Also did you wanna order anything else? My treat by the way– I insist."
When they arrived after apparating, Cynthia made a face, "I have ever said how much I hate that mode of transport?" she asked and then smiled at her brother, "At least it's convenient, let's get food."

"That hasn't stopped me before," he chuckled in response to Orlando telling him that he wasn't required to do that. "I mean you were the one who suggested we do it together," Cyrus pointed out, a little bashful in his response but he could've sworn he heard the man say 'we'. He wasn't the type to jump and assume those sorts of things anyways. "Ah, well that might be a better approach," he nodded with another laugh. "I'm all for teaming up on the games. It'll be more fun that way."
"More that you aren't required to." But he realised even as he said it that it was idiotic to point out because it wasn't a good reason where Cyrus was concerned. "But the afterparty? Is that what we're calling it now? Can it really be an afterparty if I'm on my own or were you planning on joining me?" He joked, laughter falling from Orlando's lips. "I was looking for working together on a win rather than against one another. Still, I doubt you're as terrible as you make out. I feel like this is a good tactic to catch someone off guard."

"Why shouldn't I?" he shot back with a smile. "Sounds like you've already got the afterparty all sorted, hmm?" Cyrus couldn't resist teasing when the other mentioned going to grab any confections they missed out on at a different location. "Games? I mean I'm up for pretty much everything," he replied. "Although if it relies heavily on hand-eye coordination, I'm sure the win is yours," he added lightheartedly.
"You're making a note of the fact I like lemon cheesecake?" Orlando spoke with humour in his words though he couldn't pretend he didn't try and file away information he got off people he cared about too. "If we can't here then I know a really good patisserie that we can go to later on so we can pick you up some of your tarts and a slice of cheesecake for me too." Orlando offered, hating the idea that there was the possibility that the other might not get what he wanted. "I heard they had some games around here too."

"I see," he nodded, realizing that he along with many others made assumptions about the people Orlando most likely spent his time with. Everything looked so shiny on the outside but the man was actually much more grounded than people realized. "Noted," Cyrus replied when he mentioned his love of cheesecake. "I'm sure we can find something that'll fit that bill."
"You probably aren't as unfamiliar as you think. There aren't all that many of them in all honesty." As he had pointed out before, Orlando kept his circle of close friends and family extremely small. He preferred it that way. Sure, he could act extremely outgoing and sociable when it was required but it didn't mean that he considered them close to him. "Hm... well I do love a good cheesecake, or anything with lemon in generally as well." He enjoyed the fresh flavours.

"I haven't got an answer for you given I'm unfamiliar with every member of your close circle," he pointed out with a little chuckle. Cyrus grabbed a band for himself, smiling when the other seemed happy to indulge in the treats. "Fantastic," he said as they headed in that direction. "Are there any that stand out to you? It seems only right we help ourselves to a variety after all."
"And who would you suggest was more trustworthy to bestow that responsibility on, hm?" Orlando asked in amusement at the others words, still marvelling at how modest he could be. As they entered the area where the event was being held, he moved to pick up one of the bands and slipped it onto his wrist easily. "Tarts hm? Yes, I imagine they are delicious. Lets go and get them then."

"That's definitely suspicious but I suppose I'm flattered you bother to keep up with that sort of stuff," Cyrus added in amusement. "Nothing came out of that though, no. "You know me, I'm here every chance I can," he chuckled softly at the remark. "I could argue you could be spending your Sunday differently too," Cyrus teased lightly. "That sounds really nice though actually," he then admitted after Hunter's invitation. "I'd love to take you up on that, Hunter."
"Why are you in here now? Haven't you got a life to go out and enjoy or something?" Hunter couldn't help but joke when he saw Cyrus working away yet again. "It's Sunday. Which you know, usually means family dinners or something. If you've not got plans then we could hit up a cafe or something and get a roast?" He offered after a moment.

"That sounds like far more responsibility than you should be giving me," Cyrus insisted with another sheepish chuckle. He appreciated the other's thinking and belief in his opinions, but he also didn't want to be taking on that much credit for Orlando's work either. "I'm not sure. Maybe the tarts or something? I love the ones with forest berries on the top of them," he admitted with a smile as he let his eyes move to the refreshments and food tables.
Orlando had to laugh at the way Cyrus had phrased it, nodding his head as a warm smile graced his lips. "Good to know. I'll pass you over the next section when I'm done with it. Who knows, maybe your questions about where the story goes next or whatever it is you are curious about might actually influence how I approach the next chapter." It was certainly something he'd never really thought about before but now that he was, he did wonder how it would impact his thought process and he was excited to find out. "Messy but good." He spoke with interest at the mention of a chocolate fountain, ordering them both a drink. "What dessert do you think you will eye up?"
