Food. I love this shit so much. So much so that this crab and shrimp dressing started days ago when I toasted my own croutons out of some delicious brioche loaves. And flavored the crab and shrimp mixture with hella herbs and spices along with some homemade cream of celery soup instead of the shit from a can. The photos don’t tell you much, but the best food takes time…trust the process. May this pan rest in peace for it was delicious and made with hella love. I can tell you what I put in it, but I can’t remember how much. Hemp+Love Body/Hair Soap (UNSCENTED)

Maybe I love this bar so much because of the Hemp Oil…or maybe it’s the luxurious lather. I don’t know, but the ingredients in this bar make me look forward to bathing. It includes coconut oil for cleansing, castor oil for bubbles and hair love, with hemp oil, mango seed butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, and apricot kernel oil for skin and hair love. This bar was colored using neem powder, moringa powder, and activated charcoal. It is almost twice the size of my Pink Salt+Love bars but they are all hand poured with the same amount of love. My curls enjoy this bar but rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar is a must followed by my #ArtistsOnly Conditioner Bars.

Each bar weighs approximately 5 ounces.

Pink Salt+Love Body/Hair Soap (SCENTED)

What do we have here? It is literally the bar of all blogs that people keep raving about in the private soap-making Facebook groups, and I’m out here following the trend even though I’m apparently late to the party. People LOVE 100% Coconut Oil Soap. So I figured it was necessary to share this love with you. But I couldn’t stop there. Thanks to Ancestry.com, I learned about a little German heritage, so I figured I would saponify this bar with a brine solution as with traditional soleseife (pronounced zo-luh-zigh-fuh) soap. I also had to incorporate my love for India by using Himalayan Pink Salt in the brine because why not? Love is in the Earth and this bar contains minerals your skin will love. The FDA won’t let me tell you how I really feel, but if you feel dirty and want to feel clean, I highly recommend this bar. Salt is known for pulling impurities out of the skin and the Rose Kaolin Clay used for color is also known to absorb excess oils. I use it on my curls periodically (followed by a quick vinegar rinse and love from my conditioner bars), but it is far more clarifying than a bar with a combination of oils. To keep your skin feeling lovely, this bar contains a high amount of unsaponified coconut oil so it won’t be your ashiest day if you skip the lotion after your shower. It is scented with an uplifting blend of grapefruit and lemongrass and made with hella love. (PLEASE NOTE: these are larger than the previous Pink Salt + Love batches)

Sandalwood + Love Soap (SCENTED)

Despite what big companies advertise, castile soap (a.k.a. the most gentle soap for your skin and hair) is made using only olive oil and a lye solution. I wanted to spice it up a bit for this bar, so I snuck in some coconut oil for hardness and shea butter for its creamy lather, but it is still super gentle and leaves your skin slightly moisturized. This batch is scented with sandalwood and contains swirls of sandalwood powder. My curls enjoy this bar (because I always get compliments on shampoo days), but rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar is recommended (especially if you have hard water) followed by my #ArtistsOnly Conditioner Bars.

34 or whatever 🎂🥳 After at least 20 months of not sleeping through the night (as a pregnant woman peeing every two hours and then a human pacifier to my little one) I decided I would leave Cam with his grandparents for the night so I could sleep peacefully for once as a birthday gift to myself. That was a huge fail. I got a room at the Claremont, and unfortunately the bed was no where near as comfortable as mine, the “bay view” room that I paid extra for was disrespectful considering the view I get in my own bedroom, and I heard loud banging above me the whole night. In short, I should have stayed my ass at home. Silver lining: I got to hang out with my notepad without any babies trying to eat my pencil. And the bathtub made me smile. AND THE FOOD.
