I have been seeing jayroy shippers fight against the “Roy wouldn’t like Jason for hurting his sister” point by bringing up that Jade has also hurt people. I need y’all to understand why hurting someone’s sibling would make them dislike you significantly more than the person that hurt people that weren’t their siblings. Y’all come off as only children cause how the hell are the two even comparable?

I really dislike how Barbara Gordon's moral greyness is erased. Like, this woman is basically personification of survlliance state, she worked closely with Amanda Waller and Suicide Squad (notably morally grey bunch) and was considered as Waller's successor, wanted to straight up snipe out Roman Sionis and advocated for killing Joker. And it all just never grappelled with in favour of flattening her up as 'just reasonable voice of reason, totally normal person'. She could be so interesting if anyone bothered

i dont give a shit about any bat characters ESPECIALLY jason but the way people talk abt them especially jason especially the "to kill or not to kill" argument drives me insane because of how quickly people turn into reactionaries but i can't say anything because ive never read a batbook in my life and doing so just to argue about politics with a batstan on the internet is truly succumbing to the devils temptation but some of the things people say makes me want to make bad life choices

I think Duke and Jason are eachother's Robin more or less in canon and tbh Duke deserves that position expanded on in fan content wayyyy more than Tim does to be an actual 'replacament' and Tim's already got a Robin in Dick and vice versa.Also tbh Jayrose is actually pretty good(though i'd rather Rose have a gf and i think she's also trans)and it and Jaytemis are 100000 times better than Jayroy

Not me seeing some Tim stan ragging on how Jason stans are so bad for liking mischaracterized versions of characters to prop up Jason while a bit later hyping up how Lady Shiva's interactions with Tim are 'soooo funny and cool' as if it wasn't a huge and numerous propping up of Tim at her expense that kickstarted decades of her getting treated as 'walking power-scaler'. Like, they're not necessarily wrong about Jason but a little self-awareness and hypocrisy check wouldn't hurt

i think a lot of the part of the fandom that cries about how “comic fans gatekeep” or “comic fandoms are sooo toxic…sorry i haven’t read every comic ever” dont really understand why theyre being critiqued. its not because they’re “maliciously writing tropey mischaracterizations”; its because they bite off more than they can chew. they’ll try to get too invested in too many characters at once and then start building preconceived understandings of characters they haven’t read about but find mildly interesting and then they get pissy when someone calls their understanding of that character ooc. no one’s asking anyone to “read every comic ever”. no one’s gatekeeping; in fact, most of the comic fans ik actively encourage people in the fandom to read! its just that we are justifiably frustrated when people dive head first into the fandom and start changing the perception of characters they haven’t read about
