Even LGBT people are afraid to create LGBT rep half the time because you fucking goblins critique things with LGBT rep so harshly that the second it does something that you personally don’t like it gets treated even worse than the shows that have absolutely no rep in them.
Demonizing every show that is earnestly trying to provide the rep we’ve been lacking is NOT THE WAY TO GET BETTER REP

anonymous tumblr asks are great and all but i wish there was a little field for you to put “who from” newspaper agony-aunt style (like “-yr secret admirer”, “-yr biggest hater”, “irritated, 28″ etc) idk i feel like it would really just add something to the whole experience

A Gender Bending Proverb (BWL 58, lines 1-5)
Alas, this proverbial saying comes from a very broken context. But whatever it refers to — clothing? sexual positions? dominance?— it adds further evidence that ancient Mesopotamians considered gender-bending practices a part of their society.
[a]-mur-ru-ú
[a-n]a aššati-šu i-qab-bi
[at]-ti lu eṭ-lu
[a-na-k]u lu ar-da-tu

“You be the man;
I will be the woman.”

Why Sarah Helen Whitman is more Goth than U
This is her.
And she’s not even in mourning in this image, she’s wearing a shawl and veil and ribbons just because.
So she always wore these gauzy outfits making her look like some ethereal ghost, her clique of other spooky ladies followed her around town and they held seances and read their own spooky poetry together.
This woman was Victorian Goth-Goth. She was exemplifying the Victorian Goth style in the actual Victorian era, some accounts even say she wore feathers and beads and was more or less the Stevie Nicks of her day. She kept a mini-coffin that opened and shut like a locket around her neck at all times and never told anyone why.
She also dated Edgar Allan Poe, who was a couple years younger than her, more or less as a token spooky boyfriend to go with her spooky life style.
So yes. Sarah Helen Whitman is more goth than all of us.
