Ao3 is actually massively culturally important and very very good at being what it is. I’m so serious when I say that ao3 needs to be protected as the anti censorship, by fans for fans, nonprofit, volunteer run, expertly designed archival site that it is. You don’t have to read or like fanfiction to understand that on principle, ao3 is a site that should be defended.

There's something about communities nowadays - online or irl, and that feeling of never fitting, or being a temporary friend until people move to others more interesting, that feeling of novelty you can bring being ephemeral. Everything is so fast-paced today while you are trapped in immobility.

Of all authors, I never thought I'd read about a guy who asks a woman if they could have a threesome with her girlfriend in a Brandon Sanderson book. And lets not forget said guy harassed her for years and didn't took no for an answer. 😑🤮 Yes, the book was published in 2016, but even back then it wasn't acceptable or fun and quirky like it's portraited in the book.
