feldspar + cold ?

Their breath fogged in front of their face as they hauled an arm over the rocky ledge and heaved themself up, frozen snow crunching beneath their fingers. Panting from exertion in the thin air and grinning victoriously, they pulled their legs up over the edge and stood, trusting their precarious perch to remain sturdy underneath their boots. The geysers had been standing here for millions of years. They wouldn’t crumble now. Far, far below them, Timber Hearth stretched out in all directions. Not that it was much to look at right now, of course. Feldspar knew that during the day, they’d be greeted by the beautiful view of vast patchwork forests, ravines and endless green fields, but now, those were all hidden by the deep shadows of night. Besides, it wasn’t that view that they’d climbed up here for, anyway. Instead, they turned their gaze skyward, and their breath caught on frozen air. The stars looked close enough to touch. Without even thinking, they reached up their hand, and for a second, they almost expected to graze those bright lights hanging in the sky above them. But of course, they coyly stayed just out of reach. (Logically, Feldspar knew they were much, much farther away than even that.) Still, they couldn’t help the giddy laugh that escaped them, and they drew their hand across the dark canvas that seemed to encompass them on all sides, greedily drinking in the view. Maybe not tonight. But one day… One day, they would reach high enough to touch the stars.

Usually when I write Feldspar, it's always in the very depressing context of their in-game situation. So I wanted to use this opportunity to instead write them young, hopeful and full of love and passion for the universe they live in! ::') They deserve to be happy.
