— oneshot; in which wriothesley joins you in bed late at night. slight angst&fluff/comfort

you hated going to bed alone. due to wriothesley's area of work, the lights in his office usually stayed on throughout the night, and the sound of him sighing every now and then could be heard for many hours.

this time, the door creaked open at roughly two in the morning. you were still awake, for your eyelids couldn't seem to stay closed without him.

silently, wriothesley's frame bled into the dark room until he reappeared right next to you. his arms snaked around your waist, his nose buried into the back of your neck. hot breath warmed your skin.

"i'm sorry," wriothesley muttered raspily. "so much fucking paperwork. i'm so sorry i took so long, baby."

you couldn't help but sigh. "don't apologize, dear. it's fine."

"but it's not fine. i can tell you're frustrated."

he could always see it, couldn't he? those eyes saw right through everything.

"It's just one night," you replied. wriothesley's hand squeezed your waist. he shouldn't be arguing with you, he thought. what you needed was a good night's rest. that, he would give you.

"just sleep, darling," wriothesley whispered as his fingers traced circles in your skin. his soft touches and gentle humming coerced you into sleep.

this man is in a constant state of sleepy— hence his moniker the "dozing genderal"— so naturally he's up for cuddling with his darling anytime. he loves spooning; he doesn't care if he's the one holding you or the other way around. if you happen to stumble across him dozing off during work hours, he'll happily scoop you into his lap so you can sleep too.

sunday isn't too big on cuddling. mans doesn't sleep much at all, in fact. if you beg properly, perhaps he'll indulge in your fantasies. . . but only for a few minutes, because he swears he doesn't have time. this is apparently not the case, since whenever he scoops you into his arms he can't bring himself to let go. you've put a curse on him! — one that, maybe, he doesn't mind so much.

gallagher's down to cuddle whenever. he doesn't look like it, but he's a big cuddlebug!! he makes a nice pillow, too. his favorite position is one where your head rests against his chest so he can hold you like a plushie.

﹙﹙BOOTHILL

. . .needless to say, boothill isn't really the most comfortable person to cuddle with, given most of his body is metal. he'll cuddle you from behind and wrap his arms around his waist, but— you know— metal gets cold, so it might not be too much of a joyful experience. on a side note he pokes you while he's in bed w you to scare you.

of course the most romantic man in the entire world loves to cuddle with his beloved!! he'll smother you with butterfly kisses and maybe recite you a love poem(/hj) to help you fall asleep. he prefers to hold you up against his chest so you can hear his heartbeat. "listen," he'll say. "my heart sings for you, and for you only, my beloved rose."

sometimes, jing yuan thinks you love the kitten more than him.

mimi, the adorable cat in which you practically begged him to get. he was perfectly content with this... until this cute little cat decided to suck up every last bit of your attention, neglecting your poor boyfriend who just wants to cuddle.

jing yuan comes home and wraps his arms around you, embracing you from behind. he buries his head into your shoulder with a lazy smile, casting a hidden glare at mimi who's perched on the counter. mimi's eyes dart in his direction, big and oblivious.

"tired?" you ask him. you're sat on a stool at a counter in your kitchen, doom-scrolling your phone. jing yuan hums and replies, "if you've nothing better to do than be on your phone all day, we could, perchance, take a nap instead."

"...can't just say perchance," you mumble, bringing your hand up to pat the head of hair on your shoulder. "i guess so."

he smirks at the kitten. although the cat is blissfully unaware the war its started, jing yuan revels in this victory.
