actually vaguely not really relatedly but post-shower thoughts of the ocs being somewhat tragic figures bc of their plot beats and the requirement that those be there. like in every universe jay grows up alone, red gets sick, dekas watching his mom deteriorate, kais always a failure, keerins second best, and nicoles always ignored bc theres no way to write them without including those things! theyre fundamental!!

kai and keerin are especially tragic bc of their proximity as siblings is pretty much directly linked to their mutual toxicity, like theyre siblings but bc theyre siblings they never have a good relationship and that bad relationship always has a hand in kais mental breakdown.

like god if you changed any part of anyones backstory youd end up with a completely different character!!
