The more I listen the more it sounds like Jonathan isn’t the only one shouting at Steve. I feel like Jonathan is screaming at him then Dustin too. Which makes sense.
Is Steve’s name being said at all. I just can’t tell at this point. Maybe it’s the subtitles messing with our brains and we hear it thanks to that.

What I think could be happening in the leaked audio based on info we have so far:
Jonathan (?) seems to be yelling for Steve to run. We have seen in the past a shotlisting with Funkos that had Steve off in the corner laying down away from the other characters. We can assume he perhaps got attacked in the leaked scene and injured by ??? or afterwards got ambushed while running.
From two pre-vis scenes we were shown Jonathan with his S4 hairstyle along with Steve, and a different hairstyle with Nancy. Pre-timeskip they probably had time to bond as we even see them working on something in the first pre-vis.
It seems there are more than three people in the audio? Perhaps? So Steve got attacked, then Jonathan jumped in to save him from ??? and endangered himself, giving Steve time to escape. If we assume there are more than three characters, why tell Steve to run in particular? Which makes me think Steve could be holding or has something important that ??? (demogorgon? demosomething? possessed character?) is after, or he is supposed to do something like find another character (El), go to some place to get The Item away from ???.
Will (?) is screaming either because Jonathan is utterly screwed and he’s terrified for him (he literally sobbed when Jonathan performed surgery on El in S3, imagine his reaction to Jonathan being harmed) OR Will is being attacked also (meaning two perpetrators or one that can multitask lol) OR Will is possessed and the perpetrator, and they can’t fight back properly. Jonathan after all loves him and we could see his anguish in S2 when Joyce was starting to burn Will more and more, so I can’t see him harming Will to save his life.
I think there’s possibly another, fourth separate person making sounds? And other suspects of mine that could possibly be the ones in the audio are Dustin/Hopper.
In the Funko shotlisting, we see Hopper and Dustin away from others. There is a possibility they’ll form a duo at one point.
Of all the characters that were involved in the Funko shotlisting, the only ones that weren’t grouped together but separated from the rest were: Steve (alone), Dustin and Hopper (together), Mike (alone).
Jonathan being in danger makes sense. Of all the main characters, if they were to kill someone, imo Jonathan is most likely to go. This could be a mere fight scene, or Jonathan dying 🫢
In the end i’m unsure if i’m right about the voices. What we DO know is that Will was spotted up there, so he is involved.

no but if they have the s5 Byler confrontation and the conversation turns to Will’s true motivations for lying and the meaning of it all then Will at one point just tells Mike "Don’t make me say it" or something like that. because he is too afraid to admit he loves Mike, that those words may lead to Will losing him forever. and Mike responds with "You don’t have to" because he truly doesnt have to. he already realized that Will’s van speech was him saying "I love you", so Mike goes in for a kiss, to let him know "I love you too".

In Mike’s eyes, El is this cool badass girl with powers that can fling helicopters with her mind and always saves the day. Mike is just a guy, a random nerd that isn’t special. When El realizes she is so great that she can have any man, that she doesn’t need to rely on him at this point and find someone infinitely better than Mike, she will discard him just like that.
For the first time he is explicitly told by someone how important he is, how much he matters, that he is needed, loved in season four. All that he wanted to hear. And it’s an interesting writing choice that said "someone" isn’t his girlfriend, but best friend.
Both Mike and El get to hear love confessions (I consider the van scene one despite the word love not being used) from eachother for the first time in this season. Actual, proper ones. Not just Mike randomly shouting he loves El thinking she won’t hear during an argument with others. Not El saying she loves him too then kissing Mike as he’s standing there frozen and that’s it.
What are said confessions? The show’s biggest M*leven shipper telling Mike what El supposedly feels despite it just being his words he claims are what she is experiencing. Mike doesn’t get to hear this from El herself. It’s just Will going "Source: Trust me bro". Mike thinks it comes from her but it doesn’t so we as an audience can’t even classify it as a real confession.
Then the monologue. Which is Mike talking to El as she is completely unable to respond to anything, he is trying to save her, and Max is dying.
Both of these don’t happen under normal circumstances where El and Mike can talk to each other.

reason : He doesnt seem physically attracted to el. I feel like in s1 he felt like he had to like he bc she was a girl and Lucas was sorta pushing it on him. I think he loves el more platonically then anything. Because after that kiss in s3 the ending ep he didnt seem attracted to her or something.

At this point I’m just too fed up with all this. People have the capacity to scroll past posts on this tag that they disagree with. Not with this, though. You mention your stance on the topic, expect to inspire someone else to give their opinion on the tag too as a response. Then it quickly evolves into discourse. We should be able to say "I think Mike being gay/bi makes more sense in my eyes" without someone acting like they got personally attacked by the statement. Just casually discuss without it turning into a chaotic mess.
It’s funny because you can see who never met a single bisexual person in their life too. Come on 😭

Mike is gay
Anyway what always bothers me with these goofy squabbles isn’t those dedicated to defending what sexuality Mike is. It’s fine to believe with your entire body he is gay. Or bi. Straight too but that’s not a Byler thing.
It’s that it always exposes how you guys just want the bare minimum and don’t care.
Yes, all that matters is Byler becomes canon and he loves Will. Mike’s sexuality? Wait, that actually is important? Who cares. The Duffers will sooooo not touch upon that despite it being an important part of Mike’s story. Mike and El will break up after so much time being together and over him being unable to say I love you and lying. El won’t ask or be curious why Mike couldn’t love her. Mike won’t clarify whether he was attracted to El at any point. Mike and El’s romantic relationship was useless and just there. The audience won’t get any closure. You had to sit through all that sweet sweet drama just to find out absolutely nothing.
Nobody is asking for Mike to straight up say he’s gay or bi. It’d just be fucking dumb and, I’d say bad writing, if they just brushed over all this. Mike’s sexuality, his relationship with El, it all mattered. Letting us know what he felt for her exactly is the reasonable thing to do. Maybe some of you just don’t give a fuck. You want to speedrun this and quickly get to the Byler kiss. But I don’t want that. El deserves to get to know what parts of their relationship were real. After so much time spent on Byler and M*leven and Mike’s struggles with his sexuality it is only fitting they will let us know. He’s not a character they can leave as: He likes guys and may or may not like girls.
They could get away with that with a character with a different story. But with Mike, that just doesn’t fit. It’s not satisfying. If he is bisexual that just changes so much about his story. That means he at one point was attracted to El but it never went past a crush. He didn’t fall in love with her, but Will instead. It’d be even more heartbreaking because it means Mike was capable of loving her, but didn’t. If he is gay, that means he was not capable of loving El. This all is important.
Two seasons of Mike being unable to say I love you to El. We find out that’s because he doesn’t love her. Then they just not touch upon what is the reason? Bullshit.

Well if we can talk about death of the actor and even whether said actor should literally d!e, we can talk about death of the author, as in, taking our favorite characters away from R*ss.
Or do you just not know anything about his politics?
Wishing death on the actors is the most immature, dumb behavior. You can do it but it’s not right. It’s fucked. Simply learn how to separate the actor you dislike from the character, and if you can’t, move on.
I am aware of Ross’ politics, yes. But at this point I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish with this death of the author concept. Go on and steal your favorite characters. Challenge Ross to a duel if you want.
