Marshall sat down on the sidewalk and lifted his left front paw for Bella to take a look at it.

"Nothing too bad. I stepped on something sharp on the beach sand earlier this morning. Maybe a pointy rock, or a cracked seashell, I don't know. It hurt at the moment, I limped for a few minutes, but there was no cut or anything serious, just the sharp pain." The Dalmatian sighed, feeling slightly annoyed at himself. "I thought it was better now, but when I began running to race you, it hurt again."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Rocky questioned, sitting down as well.

"Because I thought it was better already." Marshall rolled his eyes. "It wasn't hurting anymore."

Zuma blinked slowly at him, raising an eyebrow in a mix of confusion and startle from being woken up so suddenly.

"It's okay. But dude, what was that...? You thwashed so hard you kicked me. No more end-of-the-world movies at night for you." He attempted at a joke to lighten up the mood, hopefully. He didn't want Chase to think he was mad at him for that...

I'm gonna pause working on answers for asks in this blog and in the diy-fire-water-pups blog for a few days. I need to catch up with some paperworks for my part time job and I haven't been able to get any decent sleep for days.

Rocky still ran for a while, but stopped halfway across the bridge when he looked back and noticed Marshall was way behind.

"Marshall? What's the problem?" He asked as soon as the Dalmatian finally caught up with them.

"I think I hurt my paw earlier today." He explained. "It doesn't bother when I'm walking, but now that I tried running, it hurt a bit. No more running for me today."

The rare husky wasn't looking were she was going and bumped into a pair of pups a Dalmatian and a familiar pup "watch were your going?!"

The Dalmatian darted right after him, eyes focused on his goal like a hawk zeroing on a prey. He was so going to catch Chase this time! Nothing could stop him!

Or so he thought. As Marshall leaped over the log instead of going around it, one of his paws bumped on it, making him lose his balance entirely and get sent flying forward, tumbling on the grass until he came to a stop and shook his head.

"... Ouch." He got up and shook himself to get rid of the grass and dirt all over him, then looked around for Chase, to continue his pursuit.
