Social Media Activism

Social media activism has become huge within the last 5 years. Each platform has been used for several different movements and a call for change. The best part about social media activism, is that we have several different people who will get involved all over the world by the press of a button. Take look at the #blacklivesmatter movement it took control of all social media platforms and it has stayed in control. We have so many people ready to get involved and fight for whats right. The downside to this, is that we have several people who don’t educate themselves on the situation and become so ignorant to anything they disagree with so when people are fighting for #blacklivesmatter you have the ignorant people fighting for #alllivesmatter. Thhis is where social media activism can have a downside. You have people refuse to understand and think what they want to think. Social media is amazing for how we can get word out and get things started.I am from a generation of people with hard opinions and they can make a change by the push of a button.

These girls used their platform to start a movement. Social media helped them get the word out there and it turned to help them become activist on social media and out in the real world.

This is during on of the #blacklivesmatter protest and this sign says it all. They took the streets for equality and then they were attacked for trying to protect their lively hood. This sign that this little girl is holding is the perfect explanation for what this movement is for.
