SNEAK PEEK: “SWTOR: Doomsday Valentine”

Chapter 1

Hated

The two suns were really beating down. It was hotter than hot, and Kuvro Zesh was working in his shop trying to get a side coil repaired for his speeder. So far, it was not going well. He put down a spanner and wiped the sweat from his brow. He had to fix the environmental control before he passed out but he couldn't do that until he got his speeder running again, and that could take hours. He had the tools, for sure, but they were old and prone to breaking.

“Everything I have is junk,” he thought, disgusted.

Tatooine was a planet of sand and back-alley deals between the underworld, the Empire, and the Republic. You never knew who you'd run into a Mos Isley, or any of the other space ports. The cantinas were loaded with all sorts of unsavory folks. Aliens with death sentences everywhere else, freighter pilots looking for a quick stack of credits, and Jawas trying to sell scrap and stolen droids.

He jumped up. That was it! Jawa peddlers were good for parts! He sat back down just as quickly. That would require a working speeder. He peered outside. Life would be easier if he just didn't give a damn. Why should he? All this time trying to make a living and barely scraping by.

He did have one particular skill. He was a crack shot with a blaster, few were better, at least on this planet. Even the Hutt Cartels' own enforcers steered clear of tangling with him.

Just then something broke his thoughts.

“Kuvro! You in there?”

He knew that voice. It was Uha Khus, a Cathar. He didn't come around much, but he was fond of Kuvro.

Kuvro got up and went outside. “Uha, good to see you.”

Uha was inspecting the broken speeder. “Still down, eh?”

“Yeah, and I can't get the coil fixed. Really need to get to town and get the parts. But no speeder....”

Uha waved his hand, “I think I can help. There's a Chiss in town that torched my warehouse. All the goods are gone. I need him put down. I can't think of a better guy for the job.”

Kuvro shook his head, “I mean, you can afford a bounty hunter.”

“But you need credits, and -” he motioned to a speeder in tow. “You take that Razalon FC-1 as a bonus. I don't need it anymore and it's in tip-top condition. I'll pay you 10,000 credits and give you the speeder. Besides, I owe you for that mess in Mos Espa.”

Kuvro thought for a moment. He had no love for Chiss, for sure. And Uha was his friend, one of very few. It made his blood boil that he had lost his things to a Chiss. Plus 10,000 credits plus the 20,000 he had saved, he could get a shuttle off this sand pit. But to where?

Having dated a sociopath with narcissistic tendencies, I can tell you for sure watching her tells during trial, she’s the guilty one. I mean, her expression is pure anger with everything. She believes her crap. That’s what’s so sad.

Ppl who support amber are really out there “hate this people supporting an abuser” hun, I totally agree Johnny has said some really bad stuff, but clearly she’s the abuser here, she’s the one with a past of abusing partners, not him. Just because she’s female it doesn’t mean she can’t abuse a man. So embarrassing… he’s not a saint, but he ain’t no abuser here darling. His texts are bad, but she’s the one who burned him with a cigarette, who cheated on him, who shitted on his bed, who hurt his damn finger, who said people wouldn’t believe him because he’s a man…. So annoying that even though there are all these proofs she’s the crazy one people insist on defending her. Women can be abuser too!!!!
